Yup. Three fire groups.
1 = 3 Large Gimballed Multi-Cannons
2 = Multi-Cannons plus 2 Medium Beam Turrets
3 = KWS
Start with KWS. Then group 2 until the beams fire, then let go of the trigger and let the beams take down the shields. Then group 1 for the kill. If there's a small escort, stay in group 2 and let the beams handle them, but you need more pips in weapons.

The Python still handles like a pig though - especially after flying a Vulture for months. :roll:

Heat and lead the killing Combo... Going to try Med Beam Turrets been using Pulse got use to them on the Vulture.

7,631LY to Khun. Going to grind all the engineers and the Sirius Permit when I get back.. at least until NMS comes out, and/or I get bored/disgusted/letdown by/with it.

Still on my second training lap, met up with "Jaunt to Jaques" convoy 1 at the Vespara Vision base camp for lots of fun at the cost of a dead SRV (my only one, lesson learned). After watching the antics, I can understand why some people take six or more SRV on long expeditions. However, I am getting just a little bit suspicions about some of the "my SRV spontaneously exploded" bug reports I keep hearing from the DWE era.

The mass jump was delayed and plagued by instancing problems, but still awe-inspiring.

Anyway, arrival at Jaques should be on Tuesday night, with a return either late Friday or early Saturday. Meeting the convoy again at Jaques on Sunday on training lap 3 will be a challenge.

Yeah, I figure if I configure mine similar to that guy (525t configuration) ...

I'd get >50ly jump range in my Anaconda (versus my 41.17ly configuration of nearly 800t). I wish I had enough for a 2nd Anaconda, so I could "store" my engineered components in that one, and configure such for extreme exploration. But I'm only sitting on about 40Mcr currently.

My Asp costs around 40M so you have enough for one of these.

The Anaconda may have a better jump range but it turns like a whale so in system exploring is more time consuming, specialy if you scan everything of value like me.

I've actually gone back to Burst Lasers for the most part, and then had them Level 1 engineered efficient -- a cost of 5-10% reduction in rate of fire for a 40-50% reduction in heat. I then added a Level 3 engineered Charge Distributor -- a cost of 5-10% reduction in capacity for a 16-21% increase in charge rate.

I might throw one beam back in the mix, but I'm going to see how this works in combat. I'm hoping just 1-2 pips to weapons can keep the Burst Lasers going now. And once the shields are down, they get the Class 4 Gimballed Multi-Cannon. I need to engineer that some too.

Actually, my 7A Thrusters (80t) with Level 3 Clean Drive Tuning turn much, much better ... even better than 8A Thrusters (160t). They "feel" a lot better than just the specs (degrees/sec) "show" too. I just don't know if I can keep them as they weight 80t.

I would probably have to go back to 5A (20t), which is the minimum, A-spec allowed. I'd like to engineer it Level 3 as well, but that means I'm now having to gather more components, again. I know I could get away with a 5D (8t), so I might, but yeah, it will turn far worse than an Asp.

I've done some calculations, and even if I'm assuming I can get another +50.3% roll (seriously doubt it) on a 5A FSD for the Asp, the Anaconda would still have anywhere from 2 to as much as 6ly over it. I'll be conservative, in the Asp's favor, and it does get close. I.e., ~550t with the Anaconda with a >2700t optimal mass with the engineered 6A FSD, v. ~350t with the Asp, with >1,675t optimal mass with an engineered 5A FSD, is within 1%.

I'm still debating. But I'm honestly at the point I think I want to get another 150Mcr so I can have a pair of Anacondas to swap components between. There's just so much I haven't done, and other engineers I care about most right now. So I'm not too concerned I haven't gone out 5,000ly ... yet.

Then again, I might want to ... before the Thargoids show up. :cry:

Finally realised that I was never going to leave Jamesons Memorial while I had my fleet parked there. Pulled the trigger and sold everything but my Cobra MkIII. Kept the cobra because the phrase "Elites version of the Millennium Falcon" wouldn't leave my head ;) . Besides, when the shit hits the fan (and it will.."they" are coming), I'd rather be in a fast, manoeuvrable ship that can get the F out of trouble quickly.
Was a wrench to sell my trusty FDL though, just didn't have the multirole capability I need.

Still on my way back - 2800 LYs left.

I just found a terrifying big waterworld: almost 29 earth masses, 14600 kms radius, 5.5g. Of course not terraformable, but the planet got at least a ring. :lol:

One of these days may have to make my way to an Engineer so far it has not been appealing nor has Planet Landings only did a few no driving on one yet. Things to do I guess. Medium Beam Turrets on a Python should work well taking down fast flying Eagles.
