But I'm still hesitating to start my own "way of the explorer". I still like to pilot different ships and do different things depending of my mood. I don't know if I will succed in this new career but maybe I will try at least once. See you in the void.

Having been out for a bit now (albeit only a short time compared to many), I've come to realise that exploration is a mindset thing, because it lacks the instant gratification of credit accumulation that comes with trading, or the pew pew boom bounty of combat, you have to settle into the long game way of thinking. Yes there are interesting things to see (you only have to look at the Distant Worlds stuff to realise that), and watching the lys tick past is a sort of progress, but you have to get your head round the fact that your pay day could be days, weeks, or even months away.

Oh, and it's mainly monotonously dull, the occasional undiscovered earth-like or interesting planet is great, but it's mainly boring bland balls of cold lifeless rock and ice.

I have not yet tested my FAS in a conflict zone (it sure rocks in military strikes, but i don't think those ships are as heavily armed/armoured than ships in a conflict zone)

I say... go for it. It's easy to refit a ship at a station with solid outfitting. Swap out a bunch of modules to setup it up for exploration or trading, and if it doesn't suit you then it's easy to switch the Banana back to a force to be reckoned with in the RES.

So.... how do you REALLY feel about exploring?

I bought the Federal Gunship and fell in love! Not as agile or fast as FAS, but it has major firepower and is really build as a tank.

Had a nice rez hunting session with Bonsaipanda and posted some screenshots of that too. All i can say is Anaconda and Gunship wing sure make lot of damage to enemies, problem was that my kill warrant scanner didin't have time to finnish the scan before ships blew up... :D

Hello,
Did some Res hunting with Lady Durga. Then trading with Lady Krystin. Trying to help increase the orders influence.
Bounty: Turn in Empire bounties at Azrael
Trading: Buy F&V at Azrael.
Made about 10mil for 2hrs play. Then called it a night.

Have fun, fly safe. o7

Going to fight in Exioce warzone for a while, testing if delivering Orders combat bonds to Azrael helps raise our influence there.

*Edit* nevermind, i cant seem to find any conflict zones there yet

Good morning. :D What are "military strikes"?

Regarding exploration there are moments that make your jaw drop...

However, most of it is tedious and repetitive. Myself, I can't take it anymore and I have decided that "oooooo... I never knew that the Galaxy was so big!!!" and call it quits when I get to Sagittarius. To be honest, my wingman is flying a frigging T7 with a 22ly jump capabilty which makes progress painfully slow. If I get the chance I will visit Beagle at a later point, alone or with somebody who is flying at least a 30 ly capable ship.

Military strikes are powerplay combat zones when expanding with Denton Patreus
