Well the SRV weighs 4T plus .5T of fuel, but apparently that weight doesn't count. So it's just 10T for 2 or 6T for 1, whether you have the SRVs loaded or not. So my ranges are actually 32.33LY max for the Conda and 36.5LY max for the Asp.
It's time to give this another go.

Good to hear, now i know where not to go. Don´t get me wrong, i prefer to explore alone.

With landing on high G planets, this video shows a trick to it.

Seems he is using a macro to: Flight Assist Off / Thrust Down / Flight Assist On.
It certainly made his descent in a similar spec Asp far easier than I experienced.

I don't see why he would need thrusters down. It seems that gravity would pull him down. Maybe thrusters up to counteract the high gravity?

Anyway, how to 4D thrusters, rated for 473T max, lift an approximately 330T Asp at 6.72g for a weight of more than 2200T? I can see that at 0g you have no weight but still have 330T mass to overcome and get moving. But how does the extra weight not count on high g worlds?

I've landed the Conda on 1.35, 1.55, and 1.71g planets so far w/o any problems (and no more creaking & groaning). After I recalled the ship on the 1.71g planet, when I entered the cockpit it said the terrain was unsuitable and I could not engage thrusters. I logged out and back in. When I came back I was at 0m, gear up, and engines on. I just added up and forward thrust and "took off" w/o any damage. :P
It's time to give this another go.

You could be right about him using thrusters up or not at all and that makes sense, I might go back and try it myself by simply toggling the flight assist.
I landed on a 3.78g planet and the difference to the 6.72g is significant when using thrusters, no need to toggle flight assist.

I don't know why it's easy to take off the 6.72g planet with 4D thrusters, I think some have reported not being able to take off with lightweight thrusters on high g planets... Until I experience that it's hard to imagine.

I landed on a 3.85g planet. It tried to drop to the ground, but I use boost and up angle to counteract that. Once I was level, I could feather my analog joystick to gently lower myself. Once I got down to about 100m, I just toggled FA on/off to drop a little bit at a time. I didn't need a macro to do that. I got distracted and didn't try Achenar 3 yet, but will try it tonight, as well as try it with an Asp.

Btw, I got interdicted by a Gunship while I was fiddling with trying the FSD boost. My shields dropped like a rock and I ended up with only 47% hull left. I wasn't used to hitting the secondary fire button and kept deselecting the target instead, and also accidentally retracted my hard points once or twice (rusty after only 1-2 weeks w/o combat). I think I'm going to skip the idea of fighting Thargoids if I can't bring a properly equipped ship.
It's time to give this another go.

Over 300 commander's signed up now and still 3 - 4 weeks before launch.
Might have 500 by launch, but how many will make it!

Think i have decided to go this in ma Connie. Test landed a bare bones setup and landed comfortably up to 2.4g. I would have gone higher but I had a minor problem taking off, so next I need to redo the test in the layout im taking with me and test again. Hopefully will be able to take off kitted out from a 2g world and i'll be happy with that.

Also already got enough minerals for several boosted jumps, even and few tier 2 jumps. Should have plenty for when the time comes.

So if everything goes as planned I shalt be taking to the black with ma Connie and some fuel limpets in case any of us mobius fellas slip up with our fuel levels :)
