FULL REFUND RECEIVED!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks to paypal, not these scammers. Id just like to take this opportunity to thank everyone else who was caught out by these carpet baggers for showing solidarity in the face of all the abuse received here by people happy with on line only.
Id also like to take this opportunity to give the finger to all the mods who where obviously condoning the abuse we received. Im writing this from behind a 2rd account and a vpn having been banned until feburary for defending myself against an onslaught of abuse, even though the abuse posts werent deleted(at least not at the time), EDIT: "..." banned me for replying to that abuse.
To anyone still waiting, please dont accept the partial. Collect your evidence and contect your card issuer, paypal or whoever it might be and get a refund. Dont wait for FD to offer you a fraction of the amount you put in in good faith. Get it all back, its your money.
And last but not least I have to say I really hope this game fails horribly. I really do. Had I just gotten a refund in the first instance I would have wished it well, but considering the horrible anti consumer nature of the company I hope you tank. Hope you got a chance to read this before Its gets deleted and I get banned again. Not that I care I won, you lost EDIT "..." buh bye

Well at least he acknowledges the 'anger' over the issue from the backers who wanted an off line mode. I think he genuinely takes this seriously. Frontier Developments isn't just David Braben though is it?
I hope they do manage a way to implement an off line game, maybe one where you can download a story update onto a usb drive and then install it on your PC (for those without an internet connection), but I know nothing about computer programming unless you count BBC BASIC and a flirtation with Assembly language on the Beeb (that ended with me in a heap on the floor after trying to count in Base 16) so who am I to say?
Avago-Earo wrote:Oh, finances must have something do do with it, I'm totally with you on that one. I think there must be some pressure to release the game as, correct me if I'm wrong, as far as I can see there is money locked in financiers pockets until the game goes live. Maybe the time constraints affected this. But as someone new to PC gaming I have no prior experience to compare this software development with. I just got my old music PC and down loaded Oolite to re live my childhood then found out about ED (And as you know ended up building my first ever PC to play this game).
I suppose I'm just trying to put a positive slur on this matter as I hope people, like your good self, who are upset (to put it mildly) with the current state of affairs can still see some joy in playing and come and join us Commanders in space where I'm sure you would all be greeted with open cargo hatches.
To whom it concerns. I count myself as among those who understands why this issue is so important to such a number of Elite fans.
Fly safe Commanders!
Like I said above, we will get round to responding to everyone. I'm sorry you've had to resort to that - it's hard because we can't give unfair treatment and push anybody up the list, as we've simply had to deal with hundreds of ticket requests. I know it's frustrating, I'd be annoyed if I was in your situation, but if you can remain patient we absolutely will get round to helping you out.
