Actually by POIs I kind of meant geysers, alien settlements etc. Not so much the mission or dynamic POIs.
Interestingly I've tried looking for POIs on 2 planets near Sag A* and haven't seen a single blue circle show up on my ship's scanner.

So I bought a Keelback (which is not as utterly useless as I thought) just for its fighter ability.

Going to deploy from the role panel, I thought, this should be fun but I dont see what all the fuss is abo.....WHOA HOLY SHIT! THIS IS AWWWWWSOMEEE :shock: :shock:

Yes. I'd like a detailed surface scan to reveal areas of volcanism, large alien settlements, but not necessarily a few cargo canisters or blown up SRV (the random crap you discover flying around at 2k above the ground). In populated space, then I'd think known structures and and outposts would also already be shown (if you have the system data), like cities and rivers and parks on a road map. But a detailed surface scan may still reveal unknown or hidden features (Area 51). Of course, you may not want to be carrying a DSS in the bubble, so you can still get coordinates for interesting places the old fashion way through tip offs, missions, or the news. Then maybe a filter for natural features and "man made".
It's time to give this another go.
