After the short trip to Jaques, 1,110 isn't so much a trip, as a short stop. I can only imagine how skewed travel is for the 65,000LY club.

You should at least consider a 5,000LY trip to a nebula.

10,000LY or so 'til home.

So, I "compromised" and configured a full "battle capable" Anaconda (1x C4G Multi-Cannon, 3x C3T Pulse, 1x C2T Pulse, 1x C2 Mines, 2x C1 Mines), with a Class 5C Bi-Weave for 670 Shields, and 436t cargo. I got rid of all the beam weapons, just not worth the Distributor drain.
- Armed'n Ready Anaconda Trader (436t cargo): http://edshipyard.com/#/L=706,7RL5De5De ... 207207203w

The result?

Yes, you're reading that right ...
    41.27ly jump range (0t fuel)
    40.06ly jump range (32t fuel)
    >26.5ly fully laden (436t cargo + 32t fuel)

Again, that's all quite combat ready: http://edshipyard.com/#/L=706,7RL5De5De ... 207207203w

I'm sure I could get a few ly more if I dropped the defenses, let alone went with far smaller, core components. Which brings me to my next point ...

Now that I have a 40ly+ Jump Range when still well equipped, I'm tempted to reconfigure it even lighter -- to get closer to 50ly configuration -- and consider a run out to the Rift ... which includes 7,500ly to Rho Cassiopeiae. Here are some of the >40ly jumps required ...

40.57ly 41.05ly 43.08ly 48.15ly 48.81ly 59.49ly
63.53ly 68.52ly 69.66ly 71.69ly 77.86ly 78.94ly
80.05ly 80.58ly to Rho Cassiopeiae itself, plus 80.86ly in there too

Yeah, I figure if I configure mine similar to that guy (525t configuration) ...
- https://coriolis.io/outfit/anaconda/02A ... =.Aw18ZlA=

I'd get >50ly jump range in my Anaconda (versus my 41.17ly configuration of nearly 800t). I wish I had enough for a 2nd Anaconda, so I could "store" my engineered components in that one, and configure such for extreme exploration. But I'm only sitting on about 40Mcr currently.

I finally parked the Vulture, which I've been flying since I got back from the DWE.

I took out the Python with the all energy setup and it wasn't fun. I had to keep popping shield cells and was taking heat damage, and still lost my shields a few times. I don't know what was going on because it used to be a killing machine.

Then I swapped the pulse/burst lasers for large multi-cannons, and I kept the beam turrets for helping to take down shields and swat at flies. What a difference! I don't think I even lost a ring of shields in an hour in the RES. I only needed to keep 2 pips in weapons most of the time (unless I forgot to shut down the beams) and those multi-cannons just chewed through anything. I can only imagine what engineering mods will do to them. :twisted:
It's time to give this another go.

Just curious do you have the Beam Turrets on the Medium Hardpoints?

FTFY

9,281LY to Khun. Spent most of this afternoon's play session scanning all these water worlds I kept finding. This route is solid for earth-likes.

Yup. Three fire groups.
1 = 3 Large Gimballed Multi-Cannons
2 = Multi-Cannons plus 2 Medium Beam Turrets
3 = KWS
Start with KWS. Then group 2 until the beams fire, then let go of the trigger and let the beams take down the shields. Then group 1 for the kill. If there's a small escort, stay in group 2 and let the beams handle them, but you need more pips in weapons.

The Python still handles like a pig though - especially after flying a Vulture for months. :roll:
It's time to give this another go.
