Hello,
Thinking of taking my Python to Jacques. Thought I'd go visit. Participate in the CG at the same time.
A lot of people bringing Cutters but mine is outfitted to run around the bubble as a trader. So leaving her at base.
Currently looking for UAs. Managed to find 2 in one system, but zip in the others I've scanned. Currently formulating this theory that UAs only appear in systems that have interesting planets,
I.e not filled with icy bodies.

Have fun, fly safe. o7

The best UA collection system has just a central star, actually. Aries Dark Region GW-W D1-52. Jump in, fly 100 LS into the system, and then circle the star at 100 LS-200 LS distance at 25% throttle. I got USS within 5-10 minutes.

Well victoria is cruising in what I expect to be a very well equipped corvette or whatever he feels like. And decent hunting would yeild about 10 mil in an hour or two.
I have personally had bh sessions that reached about 16 mil payout for just a single session the res, but that was quite some time ago.

Interesting thing was on the first one....One dropped out behind me and started....

Then one dropped out right infront of me and said something like "Well hello there" and tried to ram me......

I found that quite funny......

Geez, the CG has been over-milked already! Finding any station in 100ly with any supply is impossible, and even the surface ports aren't really great because Carthage itself (going outbound) is pretty dry on supplies. Looks like I'll grind on my own, outside the CG.

Checking it out tonight.

Well, I'm one of those "Don't apply a Star Trek solution to a Babylon 5 problem" type engineers who have worked in aerospace for some of my career. ;)
Of course, even I'm getting "Sci-Fi'd" out at this point, and prefer more "indie movies" (I'm an American that loathes Hollywood and celebrity) ... but wifey wants to go. Wifey wins ... always.

Well, Star Trek: Beyond was the best of the new, three (3) movies in my opinion. I was very disappointed with the last one, way too much of predictable remake (thought some areas could be better), and the first one had a very weak premise that is overplayed in the Star Trek universe. But this one wasn't bad at all, even if it's premise was overused as well. Especially to '70-80s Gen-X American kids like me, which makes it a "thumbs up." So if you're a Gen-Y/Millennial in the US, you'll probably love it, given I expected far less and was surprised enough.

And I say this being forward that most of the Kirk-generation movies sucked too. But I'm really biased towards the original, groundbreaking '66-68 series on US TV. And yes, I wasn't even alive yet. TNG had its moments. We'll see what the new TV series does, because I was disappointed with the other three (3), Enterprise (not bad at times, but still disappointing), Voyager and, please shoot me, Deep Sleep 9.

I'm now back in the Rift, but the CG is pretty much milked dry. Sigh ... might be time to head to Azrael after all, and do some surface prospecting.

Required a fuel stop en route to home base (270LY) which had a Rare commodity allowing purchase of 36 Tonnes, nice profit will try to work that System into my Trade Routes. Bought a Python (not my first) and feeling more confident in her defense ability than a Trade Annie.

https://coriolis.io/outfit/imperial_cut ... -%20Jaques

Ended up building this, and just finished equipping my Cutter to this spec. Keeps 17LY laden range, 96t Fuel, 544t cargo, and shields. Got rid of the vehicle hangar, since this build is for Jaques CG.

I don't feel comfortable going with 64t or fuel or less. 544t cargo is more than enough. Kept a Frame Shift Wake Scanner, since scanner high-wakes is part of the RNGineers random drop items, IIRR.

Now, time to fly to.. wherever it is I need to get the CG goods from, and start this crazy journey. Going from max-from-start distance of 1,000LY to 22,000LY.. daunting a task if there ever was one.

Now, stupid question time.

Would it be smart to break the trip down into parts? I was going to try and plot a route using bookmarks, and 1,000 LY sections. That is, break the trip into 22 parts. I'm not worried about scooping, since the star density only gets better as I go along. I figure I'd line up in the map, and just bookmark a target system every 1000 lightyears.

If this isn't the smartest way, advice is appreciated. I figure this would make the trip more manageable, and give mini-goals to shoot for.

Just finished exploring the NGC 7822 Nebula.

Would really recommend for any sightseers out there, not only does it have loads of massive Type O stars, but many of them have black holes, and systems just full of stars.

This is a system map typical of the area

Even found two systems that are just 0.21ly apart, that's closer than Hutton Orbital is to its star

Was going to head for the Heart and Soul nebulae, but can't seem to find a route (and can't be bothered to keep searching), so am heading to the Cave Nebula instead, and then maybe on to the Elephant's Trunk.

Breaking the trip into 1000 LY chunks is smart, doing this using bookmarks has room for improvement. There are two main alternatives: A convoy is leaving for Jaques this Sunday at 1900 Game Time. They already have a route planned, will have fuel rats in attendance, etc. Details can be found in this thread on the FDev forums.

If you want to go solo, my recommendation is to get an EDSM account, install ED Discovery, link the two, and use the route plotter of ED Discovery with a jump range of 1000 LY to get your intermediate stops. You will have to fiddle with the routing settings if any of the star names shows up as "WAYPOINT" because that means that EDSM does not have a target star near those coordinates.

I used this method after the waypoints from the original rescue missions ended about 10 kly short of Jaques, and not only made it there, but also managed to find Sag A* and my way home. 628 LY to Azrael ;-)
