My reasons for backing the Emperor are as follows
1. The Roman Empire, (what did the Romans ever do for us eh?)
2. Star Wars Imperial Storm Troopers were cool, we all wanted one of those suits as kids.
3. The Empire Strikes Back, best Star Wars Film... EVER!
4. Space Marines, Space Hulk, Dawn of War, and the whole Warhammer 40K mythos (FOR THE EMPEROR!)

Stands to reason that I should keep my Allegiance to the Empire.

I know exactly what you mean, I was well into Darth Vader when I was a kid. And imperials only have slaves as a way of them paying their debts off, granted some do get abused but most slaves would want to stay that way until their debt was paid off and if some self righteous Fed came along and saved them, I think they would be pretty annoyed, they can't change their outlook on their own culture that quickly or easily.

The way I see the Feds is like Tesco's taking over a town with a huge supermarket and killing off small businesses all in the name of commercialism and materialism etc.
