CMDR Ahbraim

Postby Ahbraim » Thu Jun 16, 2016 10:32 pm

Hello everyone, I'm CMDR Ahbraim. Been playing Elite Dangerous on and off for a while (emphasis on off), and am hoping to really get back into it. Loved the sound of Mobius and signed up all of 3 minutes after hearing of it.

Hate to get straight to it, but I was hoping someone could help me really get settled. As of right now I'm flying a Cobra Mk3 (not loving the feel of it), and am doing some quick courier missions out in Ngalinn and Mainani, but I haven't been too thrilled by the income. Does anyone have some advice on a good way to get established?

Oh, and I'm currently Empire, by I've done so little for them thus far that I'm open to switching.

Thanks for your time!

Greetings and welcome to Mobius, Commander Ahbraim.

Doing missions can be a good source of revenue. Are you allied with the factions that you are doing the missions for? If not, the more missions you do the more 'rep' you get with them and then they'll offer you higher paying missions. Also, Rares trading can be a good money maker with a Cobra 3. Do a Google search for Elite Dangerous Rares Trading and see if it interests you. If you are combat oriented, you can equip your Cobra with some pulse lasers and head to the Nav Beacon and kill 'wanted' ships to collect a bounty. I'm sure that others will chime in with more ideas that I can't think of at the moment. :)

Please feel free to add your name to one of our 'In game friends lists'

In game friends list for PC
In game friends list for XBox US
In game friends list for XBox EU

and check out our TeamSpeak servers to easily chat with, and possibly wing up with other commanders.

Also, make sure to check the Policy page if you haven't already Image.

On top of all of that, we also have a Facebook group and Twitter feed.

There is a lot of great info on the message board, and we have compiled a long list of Tips and Tricks to help new players acclimatize to the game while having fun.

Finally, if you are interested in being involved, go here to see information about our player group faction, the Order of Mobius (based at Rafferty's Mobius station in the Azrael system). We have our own Discord (voice and text chat) servers for supporters of Mobius, as well as our own Order of Mobius Twitter feed.

Greetings CMDR!

I've been doing the basic sidewinder starter material in Evarate - fly to Cleve Hub ( but don't dock) or go near the central star. Find the Nav beacon close to the star - and find the "wanted" folks flying around there. In my sidewinder I wait until other folks start shooting at the bad guys - then maybe they'll leave me alone - but I take a few pot shots at them and get some bounty credits to claim back in the station. Usually I get 10,000 credits a run or so - got one for 150,000 once.

Recommend doing a few upgrades to the sidewinder when you can - perhaps to D level components.

Others - please jump in and correct me if I am giving bad advice.

Hi CMDR,

Welcome !

The way up is so much about what do you like and is fun doing or do you just want money.

Up until I reached 50 mil assets I was doing mining. At first this was doing 700k each run but when I finally got in a T6 the millions started rolling in slowly. Combined with running mining missions at the station (don't go mining while you have a mission) that did around 5 mil a day for 2 mining runs + missions.

By then you might get bored and use your T6 for finding good loop trading routes. Better yet use a T7 and stuff with holds.

Or like JohnLuke says bounty hunting. First try the easier npc's in lowres or res or pick them out in nav beacons.

I didn't go there until I got a Vulture but a Cobra can do the job as well. Depends on your fighting skills really.
