I think you're right. I'm current in the Bleae Thua region and I've had to back track on myself a few times. It's not easy plotting a route out here. The maximum jump distance I seemed to be able to do at any one moment is about 26-27 LY.

Is this the 'pocket' referred to earlier, that is causing me difficulty in navigating? You can see I appear to be in a darker area between the arms of the spiral.

I'm really starting to lose my poop with this game. Trying to get to Sag A but sick and tired of having plotting routinely failing. I'm current in the vicinity of SMOJUE SM-A C2-0 and it seems the gaps between stars here are too vast for me to plot to. I have an Asp Explorer with a jump range of about 27LY. I'm just going back and forth, back and forth and making no progress. :x

Almost at the point of smashing my ship into a sun and losing a lot of exploration data, just to pay the insurance and end up back inside the bubble.

Difficult to know what to suggest, people have made it with smaller jump ranges than yours so routes are available (I do realise that comment doesn't actually help you).
Have you tried going up or down to see if you can get a better cluster? or tried just going sideways for a few hundred lys? or turning on economical routes?
I think you are in the most difficult bit, the density does increase as you get closer.

Is there no software or website where I can state I want to plot a course from A to B, here's my jump capability, now plot me a route and list the jumps I have to make?

Not that I am aware of, it would basically have to replicate the whole of the ED galaxy and then calculate every possible combination of jump routes and find the most appropriate one, that would be quite an undertaking.

You could try popping over to The First Great Expedition, those guys are dedicated explorers and may have some useful tips and tricks (they are also affiliated with Mobius).

Shame. It's almost like I've jumped into a part of the galaxy that I was not supposed to reach at all as I just can't seem to get out of the area I'm in. I get only a few blue lines radiating out from where I am. I've investigated each one and I end up coming to a dead end and have to travel over the same blue lines again and again. I really think I'm going to have to self-destruct and lose about a month's worth of exploration data :(

Do have stars filtered to just scoopable?

No I don't. I've noticed that if I filter stars nothing really seems to change so I must be deep in this pocket.
