Commentary like "the AI is too hard!" makes me chuckle every single time :D ... Gotta say, in that regard I will join the "git gud" crowd to say "git gud - and smart".

Let's not go down 'that' road.

It however is the only proper response to all the junk.

I don't disagree with the fact that people need to adapt and learn new skills, I don't disagree that some may be too quick to complain rather than learning those skills, but that particular phraseology winds people up and is more suited to Reddit and the FD forums.

Yeah, please don't start with "I laugh at you" type of responses, or this will end with people banned. Every single one of us have different amounts of free time, different skills, different equipment and ultimately a different perception as to if game demands too much effort and time from us. The idea that "you either adapt or I laugh at you" is totally single dimensional and narrow minded.

So, the whiners are free to whine but no one else is allowed to voice their own side of the coin? Hm. I'm a very casual player myself, but yet have no qualms with the so-called "effort".

Everyone is entitled to voice their opinion, regardless of which side they sit, people are free to say the game is "too hard", equally people are free to say that players who find it to hard "need to learn new skills and/or adapt their play style".

My beef isn't with the argument, only with 'that' phrase, which is well know and generally accepted to be mocking and derisory.

It comes down to why you play the game.

If your sole purpose is to spend the greatest part of your time in CZs or RESs, then 'git gud' is the only valid response. But ED isn't an updated Space Invaders. If you are involved in the BGS, PP, exploration or find mining endlessly fascinating - any activity where conflict is of secondary (or even tertiary) importance - the distractions that are being forced upon players is taking away the pleasure they get from the game.

There's bound to be a shakeout in 2.1.1 that has one guarantee: many, many people are going to be unhappy with the results.

Well, no offense, you are cancelling your own justification, by calling anybody "whiner".

I will side with the whiners group personally. It is a totally different thing of a game being challenging/hard than it being incosistent-overcomplicated- difficult to understand.

Ok, I will adapt, I started already killing Elite FDS's with a multirole Asp and deadly Vipers with an Imperial Eagle, but I find it difficult to kill Expert ranked NPC's. How the heck is that possible???

How "fair" (I don't believe this is the proper word I am looking for) is for the game to pit us against fully "engineered" adversaries while we on the other hand have to grind, best case scenario, 15 to 20 hours just to get the basic upgrades?

I am trying not to complain, but I often feel frustrated by gameplay. Right now, I have scratched from my favorite activities Compromised Nav Beacons, Low Intensity Combat Zones, looking for materials on planets (I can't find a single shard of the "common" Arsenic, for the life of me, and I have been trying for 6 hours straight) trading (it's too boring to do it anymore).

My only incentive right now, is to upgrade an FSD and go to Beagle, or take the outer rim or something along that line.

It wasn't like that one week before. If I wanted a challenge, I could always hop on a Viper or a Cobra and pick a fight in the appropriate place. Or even better, I could go in open and look for trouble. I had the best time in ED when a Viper commander interdicted me because I had a bounty due to Power Play. And I was in a bloody Python. He stood no chance, but he tried anyway. I stood no chance on killing him either, unless he made a serious mistake, which he didn't. THAT was FUN. If the roles were reversed, I probably would have died because he clearly knew his stuff, but I wouldn't mind either.

Now put that in perspective and hypothesize that the said commander (or myself) had already the engineering tricks the NPC has. Ten salvoes, game over. Where is the fun in that...

I do not know if I can myself myself clear of what I mean. I am trying to.

Best regards,

Geo.

Interesting, I was approaching that conclusion, the Vette was too good.

I will go collect the FDL and learn to fly.

Thing about this group is folk are polite, if I want to talk to idiots I go Reddit, goodness knows,,,,,,

No offence meant to anyone here. Reddit is full of silly people.
