I'm not on Steam at the moment as prior to Elite Dangerous I didn't PC game (dusty PS3 GT5, Grid IL II Sturmovich), but seeing as I've built a rig now I may as well use it so I probably will get Steam and I will add you when I do.

Just a note about Steam. There is a game called Rocksmith that I guess you're aware of. Well, I bought it for my girlfriend as an aid to learning Bass guitar and she loves it. Been playing it regularly for nearly two years. I have taught six string in the past and I have to say that once you understand how the game works it really takes away the boredom of learning scales, or the frustration of finding someone (and time) to jam with. Just a thought for anyone
who's thought about that product. My girlfriend was hammering away to BB King in two months!

Sounds pretty good. I have heard of it. Although I cannot read music I tought myself how to play Bass guitar 25 years ago and have been in a few bands. I still pick it up now and again, but don't have the time for jamming etc, so I'll take a look.

I'm self taught too. Chord boxes, playing along to records jamming etc. Been in a few bands. Mostly what people like to call Punk.

Rocksmith is based around Tab. My girlfriend had a couple of Tab books to begin with but found it boring and counter intuitive. It's ok on six string, you learn some chords and sing away, but as Bass is usually an accompaniment it's a bit lonely just doing doh ray me on your own.

You can also have two players. My girlfriend and I played 'Where is your mind' by The Pixies together on it. It uses a lead that plugs into your guitar and then to your PC via USB. A fast PC is best for low latency (musical lag if you like)

Yeah, same way I learned. I picked up the bass when I was 14 because a mate in school had an electric and could play Jimi Hendrix stuff exactly like the legend did, teeth and all. He taught me a few bass lines and I bought some books. After a couple of months I started getting into Hawkwind and other psychedelic bands. We tried a few times to get a band together but it never materialised. When I got more proficient I joined an indie/punk/rock band and stayed with them for 9 years. We played some epic gigs, some with 300 people watching, I'll have to dig out some of our recordings and try and get them on here.

As soon as I get home from work i'll have a look at this Rocksmith thing because my eldest daughter would be well interested.

Sorry to resurrect this ...

I mostly play complex stuff that flies whatever it is. :)

Jumped over from X Rebirth that I tried again after a year.
They also planned an MMO in the beginning of the X series but dropped it.

DCS Black Shark, A10C, LOMAC and recently picked up the P51D.
F4:AF, IL2 BoB.
Complex aircraft from FSX.
Was a beta tester for Combat Pilot before it died. :(

Also played Dark Souls II on the little daughter's PS3 for a change.
A great game that I really wanted to play through but you know then something new comes out all the time ...
Gave a shot at a mech simulator from the same developer: Armored Core Verdict Day.
It's pretty cool with a lot of customization and the multiplayer concept is somewhat similar to ED's.

An old favourite is Freespace 2 where I did a lot of modding years ago.

While we are at simulators I am very inclined to try Goat simulator that is out on Steam ...

I'll only mention my more recent games.

Space Engineers is my 1st and most played so far, not counting older games. My attempt to remake the Damocles from one of the ED trailers lead to one of the meanest ships I ever made, the Astaroth. Heres a link to a picture of it, the ship on the right: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f ... =221514685

Then theres reassembly a fun little game where you make space ships.

That's about it really. Only game actually looking forward to is No Mans Sky.

I'm primarily a console gamer (a Playstation guy since the beginning). I tend to keep up with all the big AAA titles, but my current rotation (besides Elite: Dangerous) is Dragon Age: Inquistion, Last of Us (PS4), AC: Unity and Diablo 3 (PS4... though I started on PC). Occasionally I hop on my brother's PS Vita for some FFX/XII HD and Rainbow Moon. Other MMO's I've been known to play on occasion are: Guild Wars 2, Warframe & War Thunder.

Really looking forward to The Witcher 3 and have a backlog of Steam/PS Plus games to work through when the time is right.

Been mostly in flight sims for the past 25 years, today flying FSX/Air Hauler , Condor Soaring and World War 1 planes in Rise of Flight and Wings Over Flanders Fields.
Also since a long time strategy/tactical games like Combat Mission, the Total War series with mods (Medieval 2, Empire, Napoleon and Rome 2)
Having a go at the moment at Civilization Beyond Earth which will be linked with Civilization Starships to be released in spring.
