It's been nice joining in with the war, everyone has been welcoming even when we've had the occasional exchange of paint during some of the more intense furballs. Made a few new friends along the way, and racked up good number of kills for the order.

I was very glad that my Viper4 was as flat as it was otherwise quite a few larger ships would have had some interesting marks added to their hull :)

Very glad we got to wing together. That was one hell of a fight in the high CZ - never saw so many enemy Cutters and Clippers in one area.

Although you probably know this here are some hints:

1. The little jack that plug the phone into, snap off the cover and make sure all the little screws that hold the wires in place are tight.
2. Change the line filters. They do break down over time. I have one base phone with 6 satellites, so the only place I have a line filter in on the base. The other phone line jacks in the house, one is for my internet connection and there is a 3rd we don't use.
3. Get a phone technician in the house to run a line monitor at each connection point.
- from the outside junction box to the house
- from the outside connection itself
- from all the lines that are attached to phones

Mine was found to have a bad RJ11 line on one of the twisted pairs.

Another issue, and this would only exist if your internet was coming in off of a cable hook up is this: Most cable connections coming into a house hook up to a junction box most often in the basement or crawl space. If the 75 ohm connectors are not tight any air that is in the box when cooled IE its night or winter will produce condensation and cause the connection to fail intermittently. The during the day when the air warms up a bit the condensation dries up until the next cooling cycle.

Another problem with 75 Ohm connections is the solid copper wire gets a coating on it over time. You can't see it or feel it but its there. Disconnect the line and gently rub the copper wire with a pencil eraser, then clean it with alcohol.

I've earned 3,100 merits so I am on track. Question is can I keep it up. I notice that between the hours of 2 pm and 5 pm EST there is virtually no interdiction lag. For that time slot I have maybe 3 failures. When compared to the 6 pm to 10 pm slot, the number of failures is enough to make me cry :( So I only work on merits in the afternoon unless I need to top off my quota which is 1500/day to reach the 10K by the end of the cycle.

For those that don't know. Rank 5 gives me a 100% bonus on bounty kills + a cool 50,000,000 credit salary :)

The only problem is my bounty is almost back to a million already and I still have 234 kills to do at 5,000 credit bounty each! "oh no Mr Bill!"

It's well worth the grind, I did it last week and made Rank 5 with Hudson. Am now pulling in an average of 10-15M per hour in bounties, in the last 2 days i've earned just under 175M from RES hunting :D

One thing to note is that the 50M salary is paid a week in arrears. Not that it matters - with the bounty bonus you will be raking it in. Next cycle you will need to earn 5000 or so merits due to merit decay to stay at Rank 5 - and the same every cycle after that.

I gained my merits by moving Garrison supplies around, took about 6 hours to gain 10k merits - so will just require 3 hours or so per week to stay at rank 5.

Yes, I am aware of the arrears payment and also the grind to stay topped off. Moving garrison supplies can gen 10,000 merits? I can only haul 50 every 30 minutes now. I use it to fill in when I am just burned out on combat though.

I spent a lot of time solo'ing CZ's to get to elite, so I do still suffer a little from tunnel vision in those situations. I do try to remember when I am in a wing that there are other people trying to get a firing solution on my target as well. I think it's inevitable to get a few bumps and dings, I know there's a very stubborn streak of bright yellow paint along one side of my hull from a certain space banana! :P

Your ship must have some sort of banana magnet... ;)

Yup, you can buy extra supplies in advance of your quota - cost me 100 Mil to make 10000 merits - 1 Merit per ton of supplies delivered. This cycle will cost me 50Mil - which I will get back at the end of the week. I use my corvette with 464 cargo space and just do the shortest hop from Namomam, so it will take 11 round trips this cycle.

LOl My total liquid assets is only 193 million. I suppose I could squeeze more cargo into my Asp and do it that way. Maybe do it to get the 10K in the 1st place. But buying the cargo to beat the clock is 250K each time. I have 4000 merits, so I need 6000 more.

6000 merits / 50 fortification supplies = 120 pickups - 1 ( first time is free ) = 119 X 250,000 cr each time to reset the timer = 29,750,000.

Now lets see 6000 fortifications = 6000 tons of cargo / 120 tons cargo cap on my Asp = 50 runs.

Would be less money because by the time I got back the timer would have reset, so instead of 119 X 250K it would be 69 times.

Might be workable! Have to check out a route.
