OP you raise many valid points, and I won't try to dissuade you that they are in anyway different to how you see them.

However, whilst valid, perhaps the issue is one of interest and/or burn-out. I see al the same bugs as you, but for me the game is still enjoyable, if it wasn't I have no doubt that the issues would be more annoying and would be a focus of my frustration.

That is not to say that the various problems shouldn't be sorted out because they should, but if they are spoiling your enjoyment to such a degree then perhaps it time to do something else for a while.

I have always found that when the problems with a game (or indeed any entertainment medium) become more of an issue for me than the simple enjoyment of playing it, then it's either because it simply no longer holds my interested or because I have burnt out on it.

These are of course just my personal views.

Yep, which is why I was careful to say that I 'currently have no motivation' because I recognise from many years of gaming that part of my problem is burnout, and I didn't want to post some rage-quit and then come back 3 months later :D

I'll help.

317 posts from the search term 'Hostage' almost all of them complaining about the mission being broken, most of them in the bugs forum. First one on 22nd December, last one today.

And remember that's just one of the broken missions, there are a number of different ones which are also broken. There are also missions given to deliver to a station when the station doesn't exist, missions that require Horizons to complete being given to non-horizons owners with no warning. Missions where the influence/reputation reward is wrong and you lose influence/reputation instead of gaining it.

For bonus points, here is a bug report from 17th December detailing that every 'mission specific' mission is broken.

I reached peak a Elite a few months back. I'm almost Elite trading. I've bought or experienced most ships I need. I have zero interest in combat or Powerplay really.

Then I went on Distant Worlds - which I figure has delayed my problem until I return. I'll then see if I've consumed all I need from the game. I'm not sure what I'm going to be doing when I get back beyond taking the few remaining steps to Elite Trading.

filthy casuals

I resemble that remark..... which is why I probably still love the game, spending under 6 hours a week on it at present due to baby commitments, rather than those who play much more.

A 'filthy casual' to me wears sergio taschini trackies and gabici jumpers from the 80's

Anyone else think of a baby creche full of tiny wee irish musicians playing the blues?
