I feel your pain after recently losing my FDL without insurance (300k short).
Back to square one but actually enjoying it. I have ranked up enough to get a courier this time thanks to metcalf and forgot how much fun the smaller ships can be.

As far as I know you can get a loan to pay the insurance (if you do not have enough credits for insurance). Did the game not offer you a loan?

for some reason, the loan they offered was short too. tried cancelling all modules I could but still to no avail. No issue - I have gor over it...

Actually enjoying flying smaller ships again - gaining cash faster than before now I know what i'm doing. CZ for the cause in my courier, then a vulture, then back to the FDL, or maybe a clipper if I rank more.

After finding that trading is effectively nerfed right now, probably due to the "free the slaves" CG (everyone's buying up slaves, so there's none left for trading), I decided to sell my anaconda to raise cash. I only use it for mining now, and very infrequently.... thought of turning it into an exploration ship, but I can buy another one at some point in the future.

What did I do with that cash? Put an A8 powerplant and shield generator on the Cutter. Even giving up one class 8 slot for the shield generator, I still have over 500 tons of cargo capacity, and a buggy. (I may go back to a class 6 at some point to maximize cargo again, though.)

I got the itch to go back into the CZ, especially when I saw there were other commanders in Exioce.

I want to think commanders Aizria, Lanceor (I think I have that spelled right from memory....), HeliosFCB, and Jack Dunhill for being in my wing at various times, and helping me get vengeance for my blown-the-hell-up Cutter! (I even got to ram another Cutter to death tonight, which felt glorious. I had about 2.5 rings of shields this time though, and was able to quickly throw 4 pips to systems.)

I think I made about 2 million in combat bonds for the Order tonight (which is about what I lost out on last night), so hopefully that helps the war effort next time it updates!

I didn't get to send a capital ship packing tonight (the one time I could have, it was bugged), but overall, a good outing. I am very pleased with the shield-tankiness of a Cutter with an A8 shield and 8 class A shield boosters, that's for sure. I think it took about 10 particle accelerator blasts to get me into trouble. And of course, when you aren't being stupid like I was last night, it's very easy to bug out in a Cutter. (It's fast, and nothing can mass-lock you.)

Don't cash your combat bonds at Azrael ! They may not count to increase the OOM's influence at Exioce & it increases your risk - much safer to cash them at Fort Lawrence which is just 0.14Ls from the CZ.

Sounds like loads of fun, but will my Federal Assault Ship get squashed by all that heavy metal flying around?

Oh, for the record, I fly pretty reckless and my shots often go where they aren't supposed to. Witness the fact that I have changed my home system about a dozen times in the last month or so due to killing random clean pilots and cops at rez sites. So if I happen to hit someone, its not intentional and please, please don't fire back because in the intensity of a fight I sometimes just lock onto something and I don't realize its a friendly until its too late. Although with the hollow boxes vs the solid ones it should be allot easier to tell friend from foe

Nice ride We had a wing of 3 (Greek) Vettes and a Vulture if I am not mistaken today... But after a while we could not kill anything....Damn bugs....
