Attacked in Mobius by a player

At time 2:46 he shows a list of friends: Fidgetartist, M3atloaf, Ornee Shaula, Sosjadd and Under9000. Might be worth checking to see if they are members of Mobius.

Ah, ok, seems are pirate friends are just taking advantage of a broken system. /sigh

Technically these people would have to look "up" to see the soles of an honest to god pirate.

To me "piracy" is a legal part of the game. If someone wants to experience that part, then by all means play in an open instance. If they prefer not to experience or even participate in that, then play in a private group.

However, these people are not pirates, they are griefers which to me are lowest of the low. They are the bullies in the school yard, the abusive bosses and spouses that are so pathetic that the only way they can feel important is to make others miserable.

By attacking and killing another player with no gain what so ever is not piracy, its just being a dick plain and simple.

As to being a victim, if they came across my friend and I they'd be in for some serious pain.

We are both veterans of Eve Online and countless other PVP oriented games and both participated in and loved piracy in Eve Online.

The only time we actively destroyed a target with no quarter given, was when the smack talk started, which was rare as most transport pilots wanted to get off the hook.

Black Rose, I entirely agree with you. Player killing is part of the game, but not in a group specifically designed to avoid it. In Mobius it's just griefing.

CMDR Verax managed to kill me and looking back on it I was was so surprised to be attacked I didn't really know what to do. I was in a T9 too, so the options were a little limited. Of course there were options: high wake to another system probably most appropriate and of course combat log. I have always been against combat logging, but in these situations I now have no hesitation in doing so. Might get a screen shot first though.

Sosjadd is a name I recognise. If I see them I shall alert Mobius in game.

Trouble is, I accept friend requests from all and sundry in Mobius without giving a second thought to who they might be because I implicitly trust other Mobius players. I might need to rethink this and see if any are those mentioned. I might have them in MY friends list. Eek.

I would like to add that there is no need to react to this on reddit or elsewere.

The act speaks for itself and the greater community has passed their judgment and support us or at least the idea of us, even those who would not play like us.

My friend lost his FDL to an NPC in a T9. The T9 rammed him and wiped his shields, then subsequent ramming did the rest. The T-9 is a brick and most other ships are a sheet of glass

Sadly I've joined here to report the same thing. CMDR SergeantJammy just destroyed my Asp outside of Uibuth, in a laughable impression of "piracy". Lost an evening's worth of trade. ho-hum.

I can report that as well as being a recruiting boon for Mobius, it was a boon for the anti-griefer group I'm a member of. (which I will not name for advertising reasons)

We welcome any bored ex-Mobius CZ or RES pilots, of course... I'm also happy to teach defensive techniques that I've picked up since I started playing open (things like having a wake planned, how to survive a power plant failure, etc)

Mish: is there a CG down there or do we just have a rogue agent? What was he flying?

There is a CG in place there, yep.

I didn't get to see what he was flying because he wouldn't lock on for my targeting. Silent running, I guess.

He also attacked another commander, but didn't destroy him. The other commander said he was in a DBX. Which is possible, I guess, as it has a large mount, and he one-shotted the shields off my Asp.
