I just checked Exioce in system and they do indeed have a pending civil war between Crimson and Exioce Imperial Society.

Ok then we wait, thanks for the heads up !

In the meantime I highly recommend that everyone take advantage of the 20% weekend bonus to accumulate a war chest. Also, work to get your status with the Order to Allied. This will result in more impact on OOM's influence everytime you accomplish a mission or get a bounty.

The range of expansion around Azrael is about 30ly in every direction so start noticing stuff about the systems around it. Other player groups have developed the ability to load the dice by inducing states in undesirable systems in order to block an expansion to these. REZ, mining, shipyards and outfitting levels are important but so is profitable bulk trade within Azrael's sphere.

Keep an eye out too for allies or extensions of the NPC groups we'll be fighting. Their presence in nearby systems can have a effect on our activities or plans for Exioce and other future expansion systems.

And please register to the Mobius Slack channel that Xebeth set up - it will make coordination a lot easier.

If we manage to expand again from Azrael, its fairly obvious that it will be to Brib. One main station and two outposts. We should be able to take the Purple outpost before taking on Gold for the main. I have an inkling that this will happen before we take over Exioce!

This might be helpful for us :

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthrea ... ost3441682

Post on the BGS&minor factions by Walt Kerman on which systems are likely candidates for expansion.

I also picked this up from the BGS & minor factions thread :

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthrea ... ost3496770

If we have a conflict or pending conflict in Exioce then any new expansion from Azrael gets blocked. The threshold from expansion is now 75% (there was a post about that here somewhere) and there are diminishing returns re: influence increase once you exceed 70% :

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthrea ... ost3432052

This is where having that Allied status will be very useful.

Pushing states in both Exioce & Azrael is risky so the original direction to just raise influence in Azrael still looks right. Unless something develops faster than expected in Exioce. @Xebeth, we"ll be careful to stay in the parameters you set in your in your directive.

For the others here's Bret's Dev update 07/01/2016 again for your reference :

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthrea ... ost3382653

@Judson, if there is a small system 50-60ly (for safety) from Azrael where we can do some test runs that would be very useful. We"ll gather stats so @Walter can look at them (assuming he's interested). Anyone who wants to join us in our little experiment is very welcome :)

Azrael & Brib in the Edmap.eu 3D map tool :

The minor faction in control of Brib - Brib Gold Legal Limited - is present in Azrael. The two systems,in effect , are linked.

This is a nearly ideal small system (Cardea) not far from Azrael for testing BGS mechanics. I"m worried though that the controlling entity ( Crimsom State Industry) is in someway related to the Exioce Crimsom Electronics faction. I"m open to suggestions & recommendations - ideas on how to conduct the BGS tests are also much appreciated.

Tifu, I am already in the process of testing the BGS in unvisited small system with just two minor factions, one outpost and one ground station. I initially wanted to see that the mechanics of the BGS was working correctly. I Did missions for the lower faction and in two days got it equal to the controlling faction which owns both stations. There was a 2 day pending civil war which actually begun yesterday. I alone am fighting for the lower faction now just to see if one of the stations flip and control of the system. I am interested to see which station it considers to be the main station, the outpost or the ground station which can take big ships. So far the BGS has worked as expected. I chose this system as it was very low population so easy to manipulate, unvisited and just its two sub factions so that kept it simple. It may be several days yet before I can report anything else on this study but I am also monitoring other systems. I, like you and others, read a lot on the BGS till my head spins. I prefer to make my own observations and see what is and what isn't. :)

I"ll leave that experiment to you then :) Just checked out the Apathaam system which is just 11.5ly from Azrael. Reamy station is picturesque and well equipped for such a system but it's 1,200+ ly from the local sun and it's the only one. Not a good choice, I"m afraid. Cardea is actually better.

Well done! These experiments are not easy, especially ensuring that there's not some force at work that you've forgotten/didn't know about that can screw and skew your results. Let us know how you get on.

So the BGS is surely broken! No influence changes for 3 days ffs!
