I would imagin a wireless ED Tracker would be heavier than its wired equivalent just by virtue of needing a battery?

Indeed. And probably larger as well.

I must admit to being extremely confused as for what I want. The different head tracker solutions seem half baked to me, and still require a certain degree of geekiness for initial setup and use that I just don't have.

And although the HTC Vive will no doubt be many times more expensive, it is looking sweeter by the day. Now with forward facing built in camera for walking around and seeing your keyboard/coffee mug.

I think I may have to hold out and break the bank for this particular piece of kit. But let's see some reviews and a price tag first shall we?... :)

Hallelujah!

I already have EDT that I built but the cable is a nuisance. I ended up buying Tobii which did not live up to its expectations and grudgingly I went back to the cable hanging down my wireless headset. Heh. The wirells version sounds great and I can't wait for it!
