I've been having a blast doing planetary base assault missions in Cubeo this weekend.

Does anyone know where there are similar Federation planetary assaults missions? I'd like to work on my Fed rank while blowing up defense turrets.

As mentioned in an earlier post, I'll probably be doing my assaults in Solo, to avoid defenses re-spawning stupidly early. It would probably be fine in a wing, but not with a random CMDR showing up.

Trying out some different weapons for my Fer-de-Lance, so far I've been using:

My Favourite load out is
4x Class 2 fixed pulse
1x Class 3 fixed pulse.

2x A0 Shield booster
2x Point defence
1x Chaff Launcher
1x B0 KWS.

I have tried various load outs over the months and always come back to this. Mainly for REZ and CZ work as there is zero reload costs so you can literally just keep going as long as you like, or until you lose shields but even this is not an issue as you are fast enough to boost away and wait for them to recharge then go back to it again.
Obviously the utilities get swapped out in a CZ so either 6x Shield booster or 5x Booster and 1x chaff.

Whatever you choose though its a great fun ship to use for combat.

So far I noticed that the AI (outside CZ) hates being shot at. In fact so much they seem to completely forget to shoot back. They are so pre-occupied to get out of the beams, I have little trouble keeping them in my sights. With 3.5 or 4 pips in weapons I can melt most of the smaller ships, and the bigger ships (Clipper and up) have the same tendency. The Fer-de-Lance is agile enough to keep my enemy at least in the range of my beams and I finish them off, simply by laser fire, or, in case of larger vessels, with the big cannon.

I haven't fought any Elite Anaconda's yet with this trial layout, so maybe my opinion will change completely by then.
