You sir, are boring :P

Did it anyways, and sure 2001 is the top speed (well, just going so fast is an odyssey in its own)

Hehe :D

Well done for reaching it! Takes ages. You must have a fuel tank in your eagle?

Popped an extra 8 ton tank on it.
Took only about 55 minutes give or take a few.

I hope that at Hutton Orbital you can find all the best parts for your ship or some rare commodities... give me a reason to travel that far.

How do you join the 2000C Club in a single seat fighter?

It's time to give this another go.

With nothing better to do, I tried a little experiment. I was in the Fine Ring Sector and jumped to the Fine Ring Nebula. I then pointed away from it and maxed the throttle. It took a couple hours to reach 2001C, and then I kept going. I'm not sure the total time, but over 10 hours I think. I used over half a tank on my Asp and went almost 2.5LY away. I was hoping to get a cool shot of my Asp centered in the ring, but the nebula never got any smaller - it should have been filling about 1/4 of the screen by then. A bit disappointing, that. Anyway, I did move away from the local star, and if I was heading toward a close by star, I don't see how I couldn't have reached it.
It's time to give this another go.

That's the problem - it never changed. It's cool being inside the ring, but it's so dispersed. I wanted to get some distance do the nebula would condense into a nice dark blue, but the game wouldn't let me. I think that if I went 4.7LY, the same distance to Pallaeni, it should have shrunk to a small blue blob as seen from there. Oh well, I won't be trying that again.
