OoM at ***WAR*** in Exioce!

Most likely you shot one of us by mistake. You appeared red to everyone in our wing (Dexter Wolf, charlie2alha and Georgios) but we would not shoot at you. If it happens again jump out and back in

This war has brought meaning to ED for me. Just been out there. Loads of Commanders fighting for the Order. Feel pumped up. Only thing was DexterWolf messaged me (I saw it later as I was excited in the midst of battle) that I was showing up red on the scanner. I chose Mobius as my faction and just claimed my bonds but I noticed a lot of red hollows on my scanner at one point as well. I don't want to PvP in CZ's either but I assumed they were Commanders who chose the other side. Now it looks like it could be a bug. What do you guys think?

It usually happens when either you hit "friendly" targets too often, or if you get hit by friendlies too often.

Sometimes the NPCs are really stupid and continue shooting even if you are in their way also, and then this happens, too.

So it is just poor judgment of the game mechanics, not really a bug.

In a CZ just jump out and in again, and it should be fixed... Unless you are in a wing, then all of you have to jump out and in, because the "hostile" status somehow is remebered for the wing.

That's the thing though. I'm sure I didn't 'friendly fire' anyone. There was a point when there were red and green hollows (and orange ones?... anyone know what that means?) and after a few minutes all the hollows were green again. I was really cautious to watch my fire and made a point of it. I remember when getting back in the vicinity of my Wingman trying to target his target and not knowing how to do that so it's possible I opened up on a fellow then but both reticles showed up red and weren't hollow. It's possible I made a mistake in all the excitement but what fun. Definitely going back there!

The Orange ships are just ones that have not chosen a side yet, it can be new CMDR's or NPC's as they join the fight. It is rare that anything stays orange for long.
If you see lots of Purple then that's normally a precursor to them all going red so a good time to jump out of the instance before you get set upon by everyone!!
As already mentioned if anyone in the wing you are in causes friendlies to go purple/red then the entire wing needs to jump out of the CZ then rejoin it, then it should be back to normal again.

The Orange ships are just ones that have not chosen a side yet, it can be new CMDR's or NPC's as they join the fight. It is rare that anything stays orange for long.
If you see lots of Purple then that's normally a precursor to them all going red so a good time to jump out of the instance before you get set upon by everyone!!

Cheers for the info. I haven't played much for a while so am a bit out of touch. Loved fighting alongside other Commanders for the Order though.

Hey, Judson! I'm going out to the CZ within this hour if you fancy it. I'm still learning how to stick in a Wing in combat though as I get carried away and chase a ship into the black. Going to make key bindings on a spare joypad to select Wingmans target etc etc. Interested?
