At community goal system running the community goal for the Feds. Am trying to rank up my combat level and at the same time, hopefully, get some Fed ranking.

Not sure if handing in combat bonds helps with the ranking though. Last time I checked it was broken.

Hello,
Thank you for the info.
Looks like I'll have to get back to mission running.

1.5 is supposed to have a different mission engine, but I have not heard much about it. Will have to check it out tomorrow. :)

Have fun, fly safe. o7

So, since I got news about the Fed rank required for the Corvette I stopped playing altogother. The price added another nail to the coffin.

Since the mission system is fucking garbage I just wasn't going to fight it anymore. I have no tolerance for nonsense like this. You know when a game becomes more like a chore than a game I sort of start to get annoyed. The same for when it becomes a part-time job instead of being enjoyable. The game has become both of these for me.

I've tolerated a lot of that thus far, but I just can't do it anymore. I sat for hours, days even in a HAZres collecting bounties. No Fed Rank mission. I switched to fighting for the Feds in a CZ, no Fed Rank mission. Did trading, no Fed Rank mission. Did charity for an hour straight, oh hey look, a Fed Rank mission. Another hour, another Fed Rank mission. I did this up to Post Commander. It's. Not. Fun.

I do not feel like a part of the universe when I'm furiously clicking buttons over and over and over giving away credits. And when I try to make myself a part of the universe by doing "missions" and "combat" it's like I don't exist.

I sincerely hope that tomorrow, things are more immersive and engaging mission wise. I also hope that things are a little bit more transparent because FD have been playing stuff pretty close to the chest. All of this is in my opinion of course, people can disagree with me and I won't take offense.

Just, none of this seems friendly to a casual gamer like myself, at all.

Bounties and Bonds never counted to rank, charities are good for lower ranks but higher ones you need hundreds and hundreds of them to make a difference, the quickest way is to stack pirate hunt and assassination missions (all high rep) for the aligned factions, we did Cemiess for the empire, it only gives missions for one system and has two stations a few ls apart, you can quickly stack 40 or so missions at a time and make alot of credits in the process, the system we used for Federation was Sol, it has 3 stations within a few ls of eachother around Earth, to speed things up you can stack missions for systems with RES or Comp Nav Beacons.

Honestly, I really wouldn't focus on the ships, yes you'll get a nice new shiny but the game doesn't fundamentally change when you do, the missions are the same, the pirates are the same (yes they may die quicker, but to what end), everything is the same just with more expensive repair costs. It's a bit like the Cutter, yes you can get 700+ tons of cargo space and make a shed load of credits, but for what?

My advice is stick to what you enjoy doing, don't worry about ships or ranks or what ever, you'll get more out of the game.

Just my thoughts of course.
