After messing around with mine for several months, I've concluded that this build is the best one:

http://coriolis.io/outfit/fer_de_lance/05A5A4A4D6A4C3C2c262626260000020g06064a5e5e5466.Iw18QDJxA===.CwBhrSukGYCYCMwg

It does have power management issues, but if you set everything out in the module priority list like I've done it then it shouldn't be a problem. Activate the shield cells one after the other, and the previous ones will switch off automatically.
Fly smart, fly safe! Reduce your speed inside the docking bay!

Reduce your speed, not your credit balance!

Ive been flying mine for a few months and have changed it a few times this is the current setup

http://coriolis.io/outfit/fer_de_lance/ ... ==?bn=FDL2

If going long distance swap out a SCB and fit 4A Fuel Scoop. Class 1 internal cargo is for personnal choice depending what i find on BB.

SCB are only on dual if going on assassination missions other wise single fire is enough

Have found that since 1.4 dropped it was necessary to fit Mil Grade Armour.

Does take a bit to get use but it is a can hold its own as long as you are sensible on target selection

People call me Bob.

Rule 1: Pillage. Then burn.
Rule 2: No such thing as overkill, as long as there are reloads.

Beautiful. A bigger power plant is just what the doctor ordered.

Has anyone in Beta tried the new FDL yet? If so, thoughts?

I was playing in Beta 1.5 the new FDL and the new FAS (a bit better agility here only).

The reason was, that i'm looking for a replacement of my Vulture for Rez-Hunting.
I liked the FDL and FAS in flying, but i'll guess that i'll take the FAS as replacement for the Vulture.

The reason for me, is that the Powermanagement in FAS is, even with the new Size6 Powerplant on the FDL, quite a bit better.
With a FDL you could kill Pirates at the same speed if you would have more Power for the Weapons or you use Weapons with Amunition-Limitation.
But fitting of Weapons with limited Ammunitions is nothing for me, because i do not intent to leave a good REZ-Hunting Spot under 10M Bounty :)

Even if the FDL looks nicer (and i bought a painting for it) i guess i'll the next days a FAS and will show the Pirates what it does mean to face a fresh dangerous Player :)

I went out with 2 gimbaled beams and 3 fixed cannons yesterday and swept in a cool 10m before the ammo ran dry, and I was spamming them quite a bit to get a feel for what I could hit at what distance. Point is, if you pick your targets and shots with at least some care, ammo can last you pretty well on anything that's not stupidly limited like frags and rail guns. Also, I hear horizons is supposed to finally be giving us reloads with the synthesis system, so if you have that it might be more appealing to try some kinetics then.
