I don't have a python.... And my shields were never down. Where is the pic? Link please?

And the thing that happened with me I wouldn't even say anything if it was not this thread. I guess there was a misunderstanding. Perhaps my turrets fired at the opposing faction CMDR. Now why he returned fire at full force.... Better ask him

I suspect it's a case "being an idiot". I hear it's a common affliction.

I don't see a problem with the current rule set, and just change it just because one guy decides to be a snivelling asshole isn't really a reason to go bananas.

The solution has been mentioned already, in CZ's (and I do this for res's as well) is simply have your wing drop into another private group (we can all start one, it takes 5 seconds, accepting a handful of members maybe 30 seconds) you wont have problem with kill thieves or idiot griefers.

CZ zones have always been a grey area, while we have a set of rules regarding conduct in a conflict zone its something that we find difficult to police, even making a CZ a pve only affair will just increase complaints against other commanders getting caught in cross fire. the truth of the matter is that while 99% of our community have the intelligence to follow our rules of conduct, there is that 1% that come into our group to attack other players because they are unable to survive a CZ in the all group.

I am well equipped (ok this sounds....) to handle another player and I am not following CZs any more as I am already Elite in Combat. It is just my rule not to attack players. I was in the CZ because I am wanted in Azrael and the Exioce missions for the order suck. Wanted to make a buck for another ship...

Anyway as I said if this thread was not here I would not even mention it.

The CZ rules seem clear to me and fair enough.
Like many others Ive been in the CG CZ with enemy commander's, well aware they could attack at any time. So I was somewhat prepared and if anything it added to the enjoyment of the game.

That's my 2p

By entering the CZ with potentially many other players you are CLEARLY aware that there is the possibility one or more of them may not be on your team. And as the rules stand you are fair game.

So either accept that risk and enjoy the danger or play in a different mode for what is, let's be very clear here, one very small portion of the game.

During a CG there are too many people there anyway, so taking your wing to a private group benefits everybody, espscially if you want to avoid any potential PvP.

Personally I would NOT target another commander, unless they were shooting at me, and I wouldn't get upset about it - I know the rules and the risks, and it's just a game people ;)

He is rather level-headed, and I am still waiting for your explanation of which station is within a CZ ^,^

...okay. I have already explained this, but I will explain it again in very simple terms.

The OP in this post: http://elitepve.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=3576 was complaining about being killed by a player in a RES. However, he was killed in a CZ:

Clearly denoted by his chosen faction being displayed under his name.
(It is likely that the OP does not know the difference between a RES and a CZ, but I digress)

Wolf wrote:The offens(es) in question did not take place in a CZ, but near a station and in RES.

No, the "offense" being referred to in the original post took place in a CZ, roughly 40ls from a station. Close, but no cigar.
Which leads me to my counter-question: Which station is within a RES?

I ask you since you are the one who was gloating about ramming speeding ships in a station in Mobius.

The point of the mobius group is not to ban PvP but to ban people from being dicks. Since the only places where nonconsentual PvP can happen without outright dickish behavior are combat zones, there are special rules for these instances. I'm not butthurt that three people have tried to blow me up this week, and it's because they weren't dicks using combat clippers to vaporise my trade asp, but people targeting me when I had a fighting chance because I was a threat to them and their faction.

A conflict zone is just that. Sometimes commanders find themselves on opposing sides. What would you have them do, give each other knowing nods and proceed to farm each others allies? That would be awefully convenient for the faction with more backers, and awefully unfair to their opponents. Just as importantly, that totally breaks any immersion and turns a CZ into a blatant farm-fest.
