Well just having cashed in my 15 Million in Kaushpoos I'm going to head on back to Azreal.

Question; If not wanting to make Azreal my 2nd Home due to the lack of Out Fitting options, where would you guys suggest I did use as a base close by?

I might move my whole fleet over to the Azreal area. That should keep me busy for a few hours as currently my ships and shuttles are all over the galaxy!

Dvorsi is not too bad, but within about 45 ly is Sak Manka and NLTT 8653 which can get you just about anything you want. I use it to outfit my ships.

Well, not much but that will change (title of thread), as I got a cheap office chair and wood screwed some MDF to the underside
and Cable (Zip) Tied my T-Flight Hotas to that and now I have a much more comfortable seating position so I may be able to stick it out for more than an hour at a time. It's made so much difference.

Had a really juicy bounty hunt / mission day. One 35 Pirate-kill-mission for 1,6 mil alone. First time I saw one of those.
Shame they don't seem to count towards rank progression, though.

In other news, the HiRez in the target system was a dream of Clipper-Anaconda, Dangerous-Elite spawn. And a piece of cake, with much Security *and* NPCs playing the asteroid-billiard game. Even started to like the Python as a hunter ...

Combat's rank progression is not based on profit, like for exploration or trade, but on the ranks of your kills relative to yours. And these missions tend to have relatively low ranked targets. So the progression they give is small, but not null. Yesterday my rank increased by 1% (actually by 0.x) doing that kind of mission.

Yes sure, sorry for the misunderstanding: I meant the Imperial ranks, not the Elite Combat rank.
As for the Combat rank, I didn't check how much it went up, but considering that I had a fair flow of Elite/Deadly ships, it should have gone up by some points.

So spent the afternoon with Cmdr Marrv over in the CG cz in Namarii, massive thanks to him for that. I had a great time in my first ever ED wing. Saw how good the Python is in combat, so as that finished I went back to Azrael and sold my Imperial Courier and outfitted my Imperial Clipper for total combat and blew 50m on a 7A shield. LOL I know a few will say you don't need it but believe me I do . Then went over to Pandemonium (spelling) as there is a cz there (Empire v Independant) and spent a good hour killing.

Liking my pulse laser x4 clipper, but a bit of a rejig on the power and I will try burst lasers all round later on and see how that goes.

Going to spend some time trying to move my combat rank along and earn some reputation with different factions by hunting.

Dorking around in NGC 6530, on my way to the Lagoon Nebula. This is my first long distance exploration trip (I've done 1kLY+ in an Eagle, and a few 2kLY trips in my Cobra before), so it's a fun learning experience. My goal originally was to just reach the Lagoon Nebula, which was the first base camp in the First Great Exploration Sagittarius-Carina expedition, but now that I'm just about there I'm thinking I'll keep going.

I'm still deciding if I'll follow the SC expedition path to join up with them after Horizons. The other alternatives are:

• Head trailing to base camp 3 (Eta Carina nebula) or 4 (NGC 3199) and then peel off through the Orion Spur shallows and the Vela molecular ridge before returning to the bubble.
• Head spinward along the SC arm.
• Pass through the SC arm and just head to the center of the galaxy.

While I adore my Cobra, I've been feeling a bit of an itch about possibly getting an Asp Explorer. That view from the canopy! Any of these should net me enough money to afford a nice exploration fit...
