I was Kickstarter beta backer but started playing several months after the release, and never even played any beta. I played only solo until I joined Mobius a few weeks ago and been playing there since then. It's my first ever experience with multiplayer online game. I even play CQC from time to time.
I like the idea of PvE, because I really don't like the possibility of some other player destroying my game just for the fun of it.
Whenever I play Elite: Dangerous, I take screenshots and I upload them all to Flickr album: https://www.flickr.com/photos/134242513@N06/albums/72157654537009568.
I'm a long time Elite fan and my first Elite was the original Elite for C64 and I played Frontier on Amiga a lot but I skipped FFE almost entirely.
I play other games as well, for example Civilization series and RPG games. My real life includes the two things I'm going to mention below...
I like scifi a lot and because of that, I've written scifi of my own, couple of novels and novelettes from the Stranger's Universe, available as ebooks from here: https://www.smashwords.com/books/byseries/2574.
Unfortunately I can't say that Elite was my inspiration to write but I'm certain I must've gotten some influence from it. Star Trek and Babylon 5 have been major inspiration for my scifi.
Also, as I mentioned, I've been Elite fan for a long time and over a decade ago I did something few has done: I wrote my own interpretation of Elite!
That game was and is "Elite for EMACS". You know... Emacs the text editor
