Keep in mind that any posts before Rodgeirr's were from about 6-7 months ago, and any numerical or monetary values they use may not apply now after a few patches and changes to bounty hunting :)

Having said that...It still seems to me that trading is a bit more consistent, while RES farming can be just as profitable if you are lucky or have found a great system. :)

Well I have done a RES recently, before I swapped my Python (mostly B Spec) for my 'Conda. And even though it was more fun than trading, it was definitely not as profitable. In fact, the amount of time I had to spend trying to find a good instance where big ships would show up on a consistent basis just kept lowering my profit margin. It was such a HUGE gap in money earning potential I just gave up trying to make money bounty hunting. Switched to trading full time and it got me the ship I wanted, so I figured I did the right thing.

A agree with Rodgeirr...... BH is fun and an unreliable source of income.... oh.... did I mention that it's FUN!!

Trading is .... well.... far less exciting, but gains you a very predictable (and high with the right route) income stream.

I tend to do trade runs for about an hour, then BH for a while, then trade some more.

I've just bought a viper and geared it up for BH in between rares trade runs to Zaonce. I don't make that much money from the BH but it breaks things up and stops me getting bored.
