Did not feel like exploring so I went out killing NPCs and getting Bounties. 7M Cr and now Deadly + 10% towards Elite. Long way to go still.

Need to find a HiRES where Elite NPCs spawn. Any recommendations welcome

Highest I've seen in a RES is deadly, CZs are a better bet, which is a shame because I don't really like CZs, ah well it'll be a long road to Elite

I saw some Elite Eagles yesterday in a HiRES. But they were Green and not wanted

I figure I will need 20 days in a HiRES to make Elite with my kind of playing

If you need to get your combat rank up, forget about RES spawns and go to CZs. Just make sure to be in a wing or pick your targets wisely.

CZ top tip - when going after a python or conda, DO NOT TARGET THEM UNTIL YOURE ON THEIR TAIL. Otherwise they just point their sharp bit towards you all the time.

Thanks, 620m credits looks daunting. I've noticed folks getting Elite trading now have smuggling counting towards their progress? I have 280m in smuggling and that has never counted towards anything?

I think they do. Not sure though, but I've seen other Elite CMDRs have less than 1,015,000,000 income (800-900m) in regular trading, with the rest of the difference usually poured on smuggling and a bit of mining.

I have done mostly BB smuggling since the wipe. I think I have legally hauled about 40 tonnes. On my way to merchant now. Smuggling pays more, that's for sure.
