Cant find Mobius friend in the same RES

I sent a friend request to a mobius member. Joined the mobius private group. Flew to his system and then to his specific RES. I could not find him. Flew around. We both tried to meet directly at the beacon. He as present on galaxy map, but would not appear in game. What am I doing wrong? THanks

This happened not too long ago to a couple wing mates and myself. Usually it is enough to restart the game (The entire game, not just exiting out to the main menu) and logging back in. There still appear to be some bugs with instancing and wings. For example, in this occurrence that I mentioned, one wing mate could see the other, but was invisible to him, while I could see them both. If that makes sense?

Well we are not in a wing. I just wanted to meet up. Do you have to be in a wing before you can interact with the group members?

Not necessarily, it just makes instancing easier. There is still a chance that if you are in a RES that your friend who jumps in will end up in the same instance as you, but I don't believe it's a given.

You may try a wing invite, though. It's a s simple as opening up your communications menu, and selecting the name of your friend commander, then instead of selecting "Send Text Message" Just hit "Invite to Wing". After that it should be much easier to meet up, and then you can drop the wing if you wish.

Good God, I just wish they would finish their game before releasing it at full price. Tired of paying to test video games.

Tired restarting. Logged back on. Didnt work. Tired joining a wing. Didnt work. Do I need to re-instance by flying far away for supercruiseing back in over and over? How do I get this clunky MMO to work?

The first thing I would check would be to make sure that you're both entering the same RES/ring (I know, that's a "captain obvious" statement, but thanks for humoring me ). Some planets have upwards of five or six different RES sites...some have only one.

Once you're certain of that, and if you're already in a wing and STILL can't see each other. Figure out if you can see each other in Supercruise in the same system, if you can, it's as simple as following your wingman's wake, or having him turn on his/her wing beacon to give you something to aim at. If you're both in a wing, and in the same system, and in super cruise and you CAN'T see each other on your sensors (but are still near enough that it should be possible) then one or both of you should probably try restarting the game. This isn't exactly an issue that is all that widespread (in my experience) so I'm sorry that it's turned into such a frustrating ordeal for you :/

It's always a pain when playing with friends gets bogged down or made complicated, regardless of the reasons. Especially in a group like Mobius.

Turning on the bandwidth monitor is also a sure way to see if you are in instance with someone regardless of other bugs in the system (sensor or display bugs etc)
If it jumps from a dozen KB/s to a few thousand you have another player around.

Think keyboard commans is ctrl+b or something.
