In game minor factions tend not to have single word names, my vote is still with "The Order of the Mobius". I think it helps differentiate the faction from the group, I'm assuming there will be players who still want to play in the Mobius private group but won't get involved with the faction activities.

The 'Knights of...' could be an issue given Knight is an Empire rank, and 'Union' sounds a bit industrial.

My thoughts exactly. I like "Order of the Mobius" the best.

When PP came out, I didn't get involved for the first couple of weeks. I didn't want to get 'tied down' to a power. I started becoming involved in PP just under 3 weeks ago, and **LOVE** that it gives me purposeful goals in the game. I'm not talking about reaching PP rank 5, but rather.... helping to fortify, expand, undermine, etc., for my power. I still do a fair amount of trading and BH, but I spend about 1/2 of my gaming time doing PP activities.

I would be thrilled to have the opportunity to utilize the time that I currently spend on PP, and spend it doing things to strengthen and grow the Order of the Mobius faction/power.

it maybe just me but the title " the order" sounds rather ominous, not my idea but I am liking " order of the mobius " has a more chivalrous tone to it.

thinking about it a few others have come up with some good text for what the order of the Mobius is. so unless something better comes up im going with the Order of the Mobius.

playing with the above union sounds better. "a society or association formed by people with a common interest or purpose."

The only problem with a compound name is that it will always be shortened: 'The Order of Mobius' will become 'The Order' like it or not.

I prefer the simpler 'Mobius' as it is incorruptible, unpretentious and still open to a certain amount of individual interpretation.

And if everyone is thinking about a home base, can I suggest the Independent Mobius Station in Hernkopa. True, it is in the middle of Empire space (pace Kharma), but there are a number of other independent (and soon to become independent) systems in the region. The neighbours, Aisling Duval's crew, are a little worrisome, but that can be regarded as a challenge rather than a threat. If you're thinking of expansion there are ideal opportunities for nursery systems and plenty of RESs for the children to play in as they grow up. Unexplored regions lie in easy reach for the more adventurous and local opportunities for trade abound.

All in all, the ideal location for a growing Independent family (as long as it doesn't develop hierarchies, guilds, clades, rosters or duties).

It'd be better if we can come up with an interdependent tag name for Mobius that's simple enough not to be shortened like in Walter's examples.

Just from my perspective, I still think Mobius alone is self-explanatory enough to let players know that this is PvE group; Mobius was all over the search results when I looked for a PvE group. Maybe the slogan can just handle that extra info instead.

I am currently pledged to Hudson in PP but just about ready to give up PP and go independent, or as a freelancer. I have several issues with the PP format created by FD and will find a more appropriate place to air those concerns. By the time our group is able to get it's own independent group up and running, a lot of the current problems I have with PP might be worked out, or at least set in a more acceptable format. There are a lot of good suggestions for the direction of the independent "The Order of Mobius" (or variant there of) group. I am basically an independent player, but like to be part of a group with a compatible playing style and planned group activities.

All that said, count me in, or at least 95 % sure...

That's the understatement of the year. With 10,000 members, I'd be surprised if 1% got involved. On the other hand, maybe seeing the option to join in-game, will attract more players. I assume even open PVP players will be allowed to support the faction.

I am looking for a new way to play the game and I'm aware I've not took part in Powerplay at all (it still confuses me). I am intrigued by this. Order of Mobius sounds fine to me.
