Not much politics involved for me, I'm a pilot, I get paid to do things for people or powers. So as I started out in Fed space in little sidewinder, running missions for the various groups until I had enough saved up to equip my little ship for minning. Then with the profits moved on to the Adder, the Feds liked what I was doing for them and asked me to help them out, I did, and they gave me a rank in there military. That's when I found out I really, really like blowing things up. So when Hudson asked for support and he said he'd pay extra for me to help clean up the local area I jumped on board with him. So now I can still do what I'm good at and make a little extra while I'm doing it. It's nothing but pure economics at work, capitalism at it's best.

So I'm curious and I was thinking this would be the thread to ask:

If I were to say sign up for say Winters, would Hudson's followers view me as an enemy? Even though we are both Federation?

Or say I sign up for Aisling, would Arissa view me as an enemy?

I understand that if I were aligned with the Federation, if I flew into Imperial space, I'd be "unwelcome." That's understandable. I'm just worried about the inner-circles, so to speak. And honestly that answer will heavily affect who I choose to work the most with.

Right now, I'm too noob, just running rares trying to make my fortune and way in the 'verse! :D

I still have no idea when it comes to trading rares. Where to get them and where to take them etc...

Yes, that's right. If you pledge to someone the members of every other power become your enemy.

If you played in open it would increase your chances of being attacked by other players.

Hello Commanders,
this is my first post in this forum, so before getting to the political discussion, I'd like to thank you all for participating in this PVE community.
Kudos to Mobius for creating and supporting it!

That said, I decided to join Sirius.
Am I an uncoditionate supporter of it?
Cannot say that, but after checking all the power profles it looked to me the less "stinky".
I don't like much the "corporate" thing, but on the other hand I don't like power coming from heritage (you can tell I am not from the UK, sorry guys, no disrespect meant there :) ) which excludes empire related factions (I still have good relationship with the empire, but I definitely do not belong to it).
Federation (where I also have good relationships) might be ok, but the leaders look like "scary primadonnas" (Tirant wannabes?) to me, so I stear clear from them.
I thought that as a citizen I would have a better chance to influence an indipendent faction like Sirius, which seems committed to concrete results and supports exploration and technology.

Might change my mind in the future, so far it has been a good ride.

As it's your first post, welcome Tawhirimatea :)

I doubt many of us in the UK would feel disrespected by your choice not to side with the Empire. Many of us are rather indifferent to the whole thing at best. Besides, unlike the ED Empire we stripped (most) their powers many moons ago.

As for Sirius I'm kinda with you there. They seem straight-forward and have some nice benefits, though I haven't gone as far as signing up for them. I like working outside the powers... I'm doing some covert missions against the Empire so don't want to advertise myself as being from another power ;)

I've sided with Winters as they appear to be the only faction that has humanitarian and socialist ideals. Maybe its because I'm a UK citizen and life long left winger, but following a power that endorses and supports universal healthcare and education was always going to be my default option.

The rest of them look like a pick of megalomaniacal, capitalist, thugs. Not my bag at all.
