Yeah, I remember how happy I was when my folks got me a C64 for xmas. Played the original Elite on it. Later got an Amiga before the PC became popular. I remember looking through the catalog at the different Gateway's on offer. Ooohhh...486 DX66 not that pansy SX66.

I had one of the ZX81s that came in kit form, self assembly with a soldering iron, great fun!
Jumped from that to a BBC Micro model B, which was quite a major purchase at the time. That was my "Elite" machine, spent many many hours wrestling with a tiny analogue joystick before getting that magic last "Right on Commander" to make Elite status.
