I haven't tried that one yet. I used to have a fixed beam laser and gimballed cannon on my Vulture (the latter being used against power plants of 'condas). Most of the time I'd run out of ammo when I need to turn in somewhere around 4-5m worth of bounties, or much earlier if I see 'condas frequently.

2 gimballed bursts do the job just fine, you might have to wait for cooldown to destroy the powerplant on Condas but the waiting time with 4 on weapons isn't that long and sure shorter than flying to the next station for ammo reload. Gimballed weapons on the Vulture work nicely, the hardpoints are well-placed and so you don't have to manoeuver much to stay on target, with fixed weapons you have to aim well and manouever much to stay on target. And Vulture is agile, so it's easy to stay in the Condas blind spot all the while pew-pew-ing their sweet spot.

TL,DR: 2 gim large burst is the lazy mans loadout :D

Oh yes, very lazy. For something sportive, try Plasma. Not as tight with the ammo issues, but fixed.

I will finally polish my Freagle again this evening and take it out for some test loadout action in Wong Guin and Facece I think. Anyone interested to wing up, welcome.

Just parked the Yellow Peril back in the hangar after a couple of hours RES hunting. Waiting to see if the Princess has more criminals for us to kill before I cash in my Imperial Bounty Vouchers.

Decided to try something different tonight. Parked the Vulture and bought a cobra.

The stock handling was horrid. Flew around and picked up some A rated upgrades. Medium pulses and small multis. Headed to a nav beacon to test it out.

Made two bounties then flew back to where I parked my vulture. Stripped the cobra and sold it.

Pros:
Sounds good
Speedy in and out of boost
Good viewing area
Lights are good

Cons:
Handles like a overweight minivan
Yaw is atrocious even compared to a Type 6
Even with A rated thrusters its pitch turns seemed really slow compared to Eagle and Vulture.
Left hand drive. I prefer centre.

Did not leave a good impression. Tomorrow I try a Viper.

Having visited the Witch Head Nebula, then the Orion Nebula, Barnnard's Loop and Horse Head, now heading back home. Currently about 1000ly from Sol. Found a couple of undiscovered systems, which was nice, no Thargoids though.

Exploring was fun for a while, but I don't think I'll make a career out it, at least not until there's more to do than click-scan-jump-click-scan-jump...

i mentioned the Cobra to CMDR Laursen the other night during chat, saying that i remembered it being a bit more agile and direct than it currently is. i wondered if it was the subject of some server-side nerfing that we players weren't told about

once i used to use the Cobra for smuggling and contraband running, which means beating the scans by coming in hard and fast with a lightning-quick stop at the end

my last trip in the Cobra resulted in me firstly drifting past the mail slot when trying to line up from an angle, and overshooting the landing pad by a large amount and having to reverse back on to it.

i don't recall it ever being such a piece of flying shit before, in fact in the past i'd often forego the Asp's larger cargo hold and armament simply because the Cobra was such a joy to fly. is it just me, or did the Cobra get some unwanted attention from FD?

/on topic
recovered all my rewards from the last 3 CGs and made the trek back home to Meinjhalara. now waiting for the Courier and Diamondback so i have something to blow all my cash on.
