Mobius Members: Why do YOU play Solo?

I had a curious realization last night, with Mobius essentially being free of PvP/etc it is basically Solo with the added bonus of maybe encountering other non-threatening players. So I wondered, why would a member of Mobius ever bother going back into Solo when the Private Group is basically the exact same thing with added benefits?

I personally can't find a reason I would.

I play in Solo mode some days because some player seem to think that you are not allowed to play in some systems or resource sites. I end up jumping between Mobius, My group and Solo just to play in areas where nobody is going to complain.

I Trade in wings with friends but at the moment its Pirate killing.

Can honestly say I have never encountered this situation. If I do see anyone they either ignore me entirely or they are on my friends list...

with all the activity in Leesti and the surrounding area lately, obviously there's going to be more CMDRs entering and leaving the stations

i was doing a lot of those 'locate illegal item X and return it here' type missions which require a speedy entry into the station. after a couple of near misses (sorry for nudging you, Mr. Asp) i thought perhaps i should do this kind of stuff in solo, away from everyone else's ships

Bounty Hunting - Open or Mobius
Tradeing - Mobius only
Exploring - Open once im a few hundred LY away from populated space and solo when im flying back in to turn in.

I do solo for exploration turn in because I don't want my week spent out in the void gone by running in to a ganker.

I used to play solo only, because I got sick of the bloody Kill-on-sight players.

I wouldn't even mind it as much if they actually kept to the pirate code (Make people drop ONLY what you can carry, and let them leave). Hell, if someone comes staggering out of supercruise talking like a pirate over local id laugh and fill er up because thats a harmless game of tag. But most of the openplay wankers just fire immediately after interdicting, without offering an ultimatum, even when you dont have a bounty/cargo. Freaking call-of-duty gankers..

In mobius I can just hail a random passerby with a high chance of meeting a friend for the evening to do some space shenanigans together.

On a bit of a sidebar;
Most of the people here in mobius probably wouldn't be up for it, but id love to see actual civilized pirating allowed, IF they follow the code of conduct I mentioned above. Pirating with a "I dont intend on killing you, but I want that cargo one way or the other" mentality would spice things up. Because the problem with open play for me isnt pirates stopping me, its assholes killing me for no reason.

Im going to be honest with you guys and gals because I believe in what your trying to accomplish. Ive gone back to Solo for more than one reason. Im not going into them all and no,I havent had any issues in Mobius either. Considering the way I play, there really is no reason to play anywhere besides Solo. Maybe at some point I will get bored and look for some online play in Mobius. I can assure you, I wont be going to open anytime soon if ever. I thought ya'll deserved to know that up front and honest. I would love to say this is what I think would make things better but I dont have any answers. The way things are going, online play is going to collapse in on itself. I honestly think that devs all over the world dont want to make enemies of anyone but their lack of action is going to drive most people away sooner or later. I guess its sooner for me.

If I drop into a RES or NAV whilst working as part of a community goal, I'm another that will switch to Solo if other commanders are already operating there. It helps me maximise my earnings and means I'm not kill stealing from others.

When I wouldn't have time to chat or wing anyway, doing pure ship relocation runs or seldom som short-time RESsing or ranking up.

I would also see "code-bound" pirating as Sokonomi, especially if we would have a escort system with a "if they run, let them" between the escorts and the pirates. It simply minimizes grinding effords for insurances and lowers bad blood. That could really be fun!

Would have to do some thinking how to realize that inside the group, though. maybe as some sort of local permanent comunity event -- "Pirating PvP in the XY area" for example.
