Mobius Members: Why do YOU play Solo?

I was not going to go solo again after joining Mobius, but then I found the articles about pvp'ers crashing pve-groups, and now I go solo when my funds are so low I cannot afford to take even the smallest risk. I lose enough credits by my own follies; I do not need help from other players to do that.

That being said, I plan on going even open when I have enough funds on top of my fully equipped favorite ships (not too many; maybe 5 ) that the odd ganking and piracy does not hurt, but is only fun.

the only times i've gone Solo since joining PvE is when i've had that 'stuck in the eternal hyperjump' loop and wondered if it was perhaps a network glitch, which might be avoided if i played in Solo

another time there was a CMDR hogging a pad at an outpost and i went Solo so i could land and sell my cargo

I have never played solo. Only group.

I have popped into solo a couple of times since joining, but this is usually when I am testing things such as changes to control schemes, new Voice Attack profile settings, or any other change that may cause me to lose control and accidentally run in to (literally) a fellow group member.

But since joining the group, I have not felt the need to go into solo at any point. It's nice to open the map and see markers that are not solid

I started in solo to get the hang of piloting my ship and get used to playing with a HOTAS. Joined Mobius group and happily playing in "our little private group" since. I rarely meet any CMDRs, must be because of my location (Germany) and the few hours I play, so it feels like solo most of the time.

I like being part of a universe where there are other people who are playing in a way that adds to my immersion, rather than spoiling it with non-sensical griefer type dickery, so Mobius PvE fulfils that.

This said, I'm an ornery, grumpy old git and mostly keep to myself. If I ever have visitors to my system looking to wing up, I'll happily do so, but wouldn't make it a routine thing.

I occasionally jump into solo if something is causing lag or disconnects, or if I want to mess around with a new ship or loadout without the risk of hitting others. Otherwise I stay in Mobius 99% of the time.

Have only been in solo once when the seeking luxeries at Tenche was running and I nearly wiped out my shieldless Asp on a fellow Morbius CMDRs anaconda in the letter box. Often go out into open but not trading just for a tour around in a Vulture you never who may bump into.
