Greetings all.

I've been around (you may recognise me from such forums as the Limit Theory forum and the E: D official forums) but this is my first time here.

I'm an early high level backer from Kickstarter, who pledged primarily for Elite IV - not Elite Online. I don't like online games - partly because I like to take my time in games & not have the goalposts move when I'm not there (mission expiry times? Really!?) but mostly because every other online game I've played is populated mainly by complete idiots. Consequently, when I play, I play solo. However, I thought I'd try this group out to see if it would change my mind.

Right now I'm a long way from Sol (>1000 ly) and heading further out, so don't expect to be participating in any group events any time soon. Wings? Pah. :p

I joined MOBIUS about a week ago after knowing it much longer (through the official forums).
At first i thought, nah....... meeting people online in a game where you need some fantasy ( gladly, finally!!!) to make up for lack of story content ( which is not alltogether a bad thing in this special case of game). I wasn't an online gamer before except battlefield 4 and the rome 2 in coop with a friend.
I don't wanna hit on young people, not that old myself but in general the online community lacks in most games online (try to stay diplomatic here). In elite i didn't even bother playing open for long.
BUT MOBIUS: What a great assembly of people! The first few Commanders i met were just an enlightment. People roleplaying, people giving advise, people just blabbering about (creative) nonsense
I' m feeling very well received and am glad to know that there's allways a place now to escape real life for a moment or two.

I am 30yo, live in munich, germany. I work as a warden in an emergency room, have two children 5y and 6m.
Teamspeak is a bit difficult for me as i play mostly at nighttime. But perhaps in the not to distant future. Plan to play this game over the next decade. At least i'll try.

Joined the forum last night, gained access to the group this afternoon. I'm 42 and a player of the original Elites, ZX Spectrum first, then FE2 on the Amiga, FFE on the PC. Quite glad I found this group (only found it last night in fact) since me and a few friends of similar age were starting to get bored of almost constantly being pirated by other players, and while solo play would solve that, this is better. I've told them about it too.

I mostly trade rares between the Leesti and 39 Tauri groupings, I'm just about to leave Witchhaul and head back to Leesti actually. Hope to see you out there, feel free to say hi if you do.

Hi, I'm Jeff, CMDR Jasper Randall in game.
I was Elite in '84 after more hours playing than I like to admit to.
Joined the Kickstarter for Elite:Dangerous so I've been playing since gamma.
I've played exclusively solo up to now, there seems to be too much nonsense going on in open.
Then I get to thinking it might be nice to see the occasional friendly face, it gets lonely out there!
This group seems to be the best place to find sensible fellow commanders. My main interests in game are exploring and trading, not really done much combat yet but I might give it a go when I can afford a real mean-machine of a ship.
Just worked myself up to an Asp, which I'm setting up for a long exploration run...
I'm a retired IT hardware engineer so I've got plenty of play time available. Just about to log in now to see if my application to the group has been approved yet.....
