My reasons for going PvE is likely going to echo the tens of thousands before me.
When I started, I refused to play Solo because I thought it would be fun to meet other CMDRs while doing stuff.
One day, I fly my Dolphin into a CG hot spot. (My dolphin had the stock Class 1 pulse lasers, my pilot registering as Harmless/Helpless/Defenseless), without so much as a hello, get instantly obliterated. I figure, ok lesson learned about these regions. As I rebuy and spawn at a nearby station, I figure, I'll just pack up and leave. I'm inside the station, get EMP'd while trying to take off, and again obliterated by someone inside. Rebuy again and this time, I contemplate, as my CMDR stares out the window watching this ship inside the station on silent/sinks/etc just lay in wait murdering whatever moves:
- Do I hail a taxi and go far away, and have my ship freighted back to me? I could.
- Should I block my killer(s)? I could, but where there's one, there are always more.
- Do I go Solo? To get out of here alive, absolutely.
So then, I discovered Mobius from various referrals online. Now at least, I can enjoy the experience of E:D.
I never understood how there are so many who enjoy an experience out of ruining someone else's experience. I get that it is an escape from real life and people just want to be murder hobos, but I am also trying to escape and would rather not have E:D just be a copy of harsh Darwinian reality. This is becoming a venty rant, so I digress.
Anyway, hope to bump into one of you at some point out there in the black!
Back to biting my nails, thinking about how to make money in the galaxy.
Also, bless the Fuel Rats!
