I made Baron rank today and bought my Imperial Clipper :) The game allows a player to set gender in the options yet all the titles are male oriented. So I named my ship for the female title of the same rank which is Baroness :)

Here is the Build:

I also ranked up in combat to "Dangerous" :)

Hello,
Finally managed to make enough money to buy a Corvette and outfit her with 7A prismatics. Still a long way to go before she is ready to leave the docks. Just wanted to get the PP stuff out of the way. Will introduce her when she is ready.

Went to the CG at Dak with Lady Jayne to do some weapons testing. Some findings:
1. Elite Imperial Cutters are a pain to take down. Went through half my multi-canon ammo just for 1 ship. Fixed beams on a Python, not so good. 1 C3F Beam + 2 C3G Bursts + 2 C2G Multis.
2. C3G Beam + 2 C3G Bursts + 2 C3G Pulses. Not too bad. Kind of works. Takes ships down a bit faster. Seems to do a bit more sustained damage.
3. C3G Beam + 2 C3G Pulses + 2 C2G Bursts. Not as good as option 2.
4. All pulse. Seems bloody good. Even when my Cap is depleted at least 1 of my C3G pulses is still firing. But by this time I was only fighting the smaller ships, the instance didn't seem to spawn Condas or Cutters.
5. The Dakshmandi combat zones are bugged again. Hi CZ ran out of red ships. Low CZ ran out of red ships.

Oh well. Back to trading to Elite.

Have fun, fly safe. o7

P.S.: What's with all the PvP in Mobius last weekend? Server down so people venting their frustrations?

Congrats on the Vette falcon. I know you have been working hard towards getting it. Sure it will be a fine ship once you have outfitted it the way you want.

I have been trying various ships in the CZ'S and I found the Python to be fairly weak even with 4 shield boosters. Mind you I kept getting ganged up on by several ships at a time so that didn't help. Weapon wise I went with 3x C3 gimballed pulse and 2 x C2 gimballed cannons. This was fairly effective.
However best ship by far was a Conda. 4x C3 gimballed pulse 2x C2 gimballed multi cannon and 2x C1 turret pulse on the rear small hard points. 6x A0 shield boosters. It made light work of pretty much anything. Even ramming cutters were not an issue in fact 4 pips to shields and I made sure we hit each other as the cutter came off worse :)

I left ranking at 18% Marquis. So I should have a cutter by next weekend. Fingers crossed. :)

Yep. Collecting Mining Fragments on a 40 degree slope is not my idea of fun.

That was bizarre. At first watching it sizzle and flame like a meteor entering the atmosphere was cool, but as the rings started to drop I started to get worried. Thanks to Dawg for allowing me to use his ship as an impromptu ramp even though my crap skills on a new 0.01G world with my panic at loosing another ship caused me to fall off multiple times.

Also Cobras need brake lights to stop (so called) pilots ramming them at full speed when someone stops to admire the missile trail that has just passed within 10m of his left wing......

I will say in my defence I couldn't hit the side of a barn from the inside if it was moving. And yes, we need brake lights. My shields took more damage than yours. And the local authorities I am sure would be on my side saying you stopped short for no reason, however, they are more likely to kill me on site for the next 2 days if I stopped by to ask. At least the planetary cops are busy eating doughnuts and not scanning people.

Welcome to the Corvette club. Congrats! 8-)

After much tinkering with loadouts, I found that all gimballed pulses gives me the fastest kills. It's boring, but effective.

Running dual huge PA's was fun for a bit, but it's such a "weapon of opportunity" that I felt I was wasting the two huge hardpoints 90% of the time since they weren't firing anything.

3 large beams and 4 med/small multi's is fun, but I think that 7 pulses kills faster.... and no reload needed. ;)

YMMV.

Thanks JL.

Now actually trying to test an all burst setup. Problem is, it took me 45 mins to find an all burst setup. And now it seems I have no place to test cause I didn't notice a CZ in Dak. I think the CG has bugged out again. Maybe I'll re login later and check.
Also, just tried a 3 C3G Burst and a 2 C2G Pulse setup. Killed a pirate but ship kept saying heat critical. This is for my Python.

For my Corvette, I'm thinking 2 Large Beams and all the rest pulses.

Have fun, fly safe. o7
