Trading in HIP 106213

Postby KLED » Sat May 07, 2016 2:07 pm

If anyone wants to join me I'll be trading out of HIP 106213 (about 80ly from Azrael) for the next few days. I'm in a Type-9 so you shouldn't have much trouble keeping up, especially as I update market info and my spreadsheets at each stop. You're looking at about 3800 profit per ton per loop (with a 12ly jump range), plus a nice 90k bonus from my trading.

Only 47 more trips to go until I can afford a decent Cutter, so feel free to pop over and hang out for a while.

What commods are you trading? Might make it up there if you're doing 3800/loop. Also wouldn't want to leave a friendly commander to them pirates. Add me up.

The best trades I can see at the moment are HIP 106213 - Forward Hub (Imperial Slaves) <-> LTT 8750 - Dumont Station (Animal Meat) for 3818 Cr/t. There's usually something in the area for about that much give or take ~200, but if you know of anything significantly better I'd like to hear it.

According to Inara there are some $4200 / $4300 credit per ton routes (35ly or less, large pad stations) out of Fontenay Dock in HIP 106213. That may be worth looking at. ;)

I'll be honest, I didn't even consider a multi-jump route, despite the jumping being the shortest part of every trip. After updating the market data for a few stations nearby I'm getting slightly over 4400/t, only taking slightly longer per trip than before. Not bad. With a few TV shows lined up I should hit 205M credits tomorrow evening, which gives me enough to set up a Cutter in a very basic trading outfit, with a LYR discount (plus insurance and a full load of cargo). According to EDDB there's only one LYR-aligned station that sells a Cutter, if that's right they must get quite a bit of business.

You want a A-rated frameshift drive, or you will go nuts during all those jumps. Here is my current set-up for the Fuel Rats CG: Just the basic guns to set the "is armed" flag for the NPC pirates, biggest possible frame shift drive. Interdictions are dealt with by submitting and running, and I have no plans whatsoever to take this whale down onto a planet.

I might do a few extra runs to start with a C-rated FSD, but probably not A straight away. When I first started playing I looked at the ships and decided to use a Cutter as my main ship just based on the looks, so of course it ended up being the biggest pain to get. I'm looking forward to the update that'll let me carry around a Courier/Eagle with me for planetary stuff.

My next goal after this is to get a line of Imperial ships for all occasions. I'll have the Cutter for trade, Clipper for combat, Courier for Exploration and Eagle for racing. Those middle two may not be ideal, but I'm battling my usual instincts and picking form over function for a change.

But yeah if anyone wants to join me, I'm flying between Candecama and Canta Athis for the next few hours, and probably tomorrow afternoon too (W Australia time).
