Re: Nearby Nebula 'Asteroid Base' Tour? (On-hold)

I'm skipping Orion, and just going southwest and west. I've read a lot about the perma-locked areas, and decided I just want to avoid them.

I might just visit only a few WSW, less than a dozen, and then head on to Colonia. Or I might do the full Rift tour, and then head towards Colonia. I mean ... There has to be a lot of exploration data for the capturing by taking an off-axis route to Colonia.

Thanx for all the information, and definitely for the mention of CMDR Alot's EDTS scripts. I'm a coder of many languages, especially on POSIX (UNIX/Linux, including BSD-Darwin aka MacOS X), so I really, really need to dive into all the tools available.

So, I'm kinda putting all this on-hold. What I'm likely going to do is a long, drawn-out, local nebula tour over several months, then head to Colonia.

In-a-nutshell ... I'm reducing my game time back to only 8-12 hours/month, just a few hours a week, maximum.

Right now I've got too much moving going on, and that's likely to continue through selling my house (which I hope by August) and buying 2 others (I work in a location separate from my wife's).

I've also had to get serious about my IT Certifications again. Many are retiring, and I've been putting them off too long.

Just managed to get myself blown up with 1.2M in bounties, in Eravate GC.

Congrats on getting the last of the big 3 ships! :D

The Cutter in full cargo mode is a Trade CG runnin' machine. You can make a handful of runs, get in the top 10% and move on to other 'chores' in the game. It's also perfect for hauling meds for OoM when we're in Outbreak (which seems to happen VERY often lately!).

Dang, that sucks. :o Sorry you got blown to bits. Been there... done that.... especially in a Vulture. It's certainly a fun fighting machine, but has a paper thin canopy.

After settling into my X-52 Pro some time back, I can't imagine playing the game without a HOTAS.

The old X52 (not the pro) and it took me quite a while to set it up properly and get used to it. but now, after going into flying lessons again and starting to "feel" the ship (and she's adorable!) I must honestly confess: there won't be no other way for me flying/spacing in this game than this, ever again. It is sooo "mucho puro" and fun, I just can't get enough

I cant see wasting the money for one. After 15 years of WWII fighter online sims, my CH Products HOTAS has been sitting in the closet since I started flying EvE in 2006.

ED Is a simple flight model. All those extra buttons are just fluff. Being in space, a slider style throttle has a faster response between forward and backwards that a full throw throttle.
For immersion, yes its a cool, fun thing, but for dog fighting in space, a single stick with paddle throttle and 12-16 buttons is more than enough to stay alive in ED.

Save your extra money for cheap wine and hookers!

I have been drinking wine for more than 15 years and I do not agree with spending money on cheap wine.
Just saying ...

ED is exactly the reason I took my CH gear out of my closet! I definitely do not have enough buttons on the stick alone.

I do well with a flight stick (Extreme 3D pro) and keyboard, but looking forward to buying a throttle.

I guess HOTAS is mandatory if you play using VR.

I use an X-52 Pro and could use a few more buttons. Thank God for macros! :o

And yes.... for HMD players, a HOTAS is nearly manditory. I couldn't imagine gaming in my Vive and trying to use the keyboard for stuff in E-D.

Im in a python 3 large Frags 2 medium pulses farming chemical manipulators until i have enough for all my ships, on a anarchy system in outbreak hunting on convoy beacon that spawns 5 or so T9 :)

Its much faster than the other cheap ship i was using, 5 or so seconds to take shields off and empty 1 magazine(5 secs too) of all the frags and the ship is already 5% hull.
