Its great fun actually, especially in the smaller ships, plus not all the fighting takes place in the asteroid field, quite often there will be battles above and below.

Its quite satisfying to boost away and hide behind a rock then pop up and shoot at enemys then hide behind the rock again :)

Give it a go :D

Well you can always head to alliance space and rank up there so you can get their special ships.... oh wait.. right, they have none. :)

I too have wondered what use the rankings are besides unlocking ships. That part of the mechanic of the game doesn't feel as fleshed out and almost seems like they were planning something with it but never got to it and just left it.

I hope at some point it gets more use in the game.

I have Knight status now in Empire, on my way to unlock the Clipper for later. I will do the same back in Fed space later.

Sorry RobFM, you just disappeared when I arrived ... instancing propbably ... couldn't text you either.

In other news, Rafferty's Mobius behaved strange, the landing pad required the Courier to point the *other* way round while landing ...

Oh and I realized, again, that Imperial Hammers and Couriers don't get along well. I use it to store three of them when dropping below rank 3 and so tried to shoot something down for fun ... almost blew myself up due to overheating and didn't even get the shields of an Adder down. The gauge went right over 100% by firing only two of the Hammers at once, so might probably just go boom if firing all three at the same time. Must try that next time

And I finally made it to Dangerous! Yesss.

In Beta/gamma/stress test 4....... what ever......Latest one.....

It's Stressing me the fuck out anyway........TrackIr still not working.....

Just found out what a "Compromised" nav beacon is.........

Fuck me........"A" rated python gone in no time......

Nothing like being attacked by everything in the scanner when you arrive....

Nearly had a fit at the amount of white flashing pointy things......

Other than that...Took a mission for 30 odd grand......Done it.....Got paid 6K........

Ship integrity is costing a 100-200 per jump.......

On a plus note......Hooked up a 2nd screen for no reason.....Just to have one........

And seeing as no head tracking programmed powergrid for my nav and status panels.......

Works......But shit in comparison.......

Seems like ED is mirroring my real life at the mo.......

Great sometimes.....But complete shite in places.....

Spose I'd better have a beer................Or two...

Oops already done that......On a school day as well......

*Slaps wrist*

delivering gold to the Sothis CG is a rather dull affair, but stacking pirate-kill missions is very good there though - there's only one populated system nearby (Ceos) and so all of the missions are for that system. my stack has 4.9 mil worth of missions so far and i still have another 5 hours before i need to launch and start shooting. beats mining any day.

----->

:) got 33 missions in one stack, that's a record for me. i also got 11 mil in earnings just for the missions alone - 1 mil shy of my record of 12 - the bounties were only worth around 500k, mere chicken feed

:( the game didn't seem to know how to handle that many completing at once, and crashed the first few times (e.g. after killing my 10th pirate, that triggered around 12 missions as completed, all at the same time)

it also meant getting 33 of those "it's lucky i found you!" idiots every time i entered supercruise

I wish they could just send you a voice coms request or something if they want you to change your mission, If that was the case I would probably accept every mission at bulletin boards then just change the outcomes of the ones that went again factions I was loyal to. It would definitely add to the story line if you could and make pilots feel more like their decisions mattered.
