The vipers lateral\vertical might be slightly better, but dont know if you already do this, but with FA off both reverse and thrusters get a boost, inow, you will faster sideways on thrusters, and stop faster when slamming on the brakes :P

People call me Bob.

Rule 1: Pillage. Then burn.
Rule 2: No such thing as overkill, as long as there are reloads.

No - I wasn't aware they get a boost, I use the thrusters to strafe round as I shoot to keep me off centre and my FA use is very situational for me rather than I know most of you guys use it a lot as the norm especially on the bigger ships

It's something I just noticed goofing around and I noticed I would go faster in reverse when I disabled Flight Assist.

I too would define my usage of FA off as highly situational, there really is no point outside of bragging rights to use it outside of turns and strafing shots.

I use it so sporadically but frequently I have it set as a hold button on my joystick (I have a nice pinky button that's perfect for this)
As for strafing I don't do that all that much, I do however on my Throttle have a fully functioning joystick that works perfect for vertical\lateral thrust so on all vectors of thrust and rotation I have complete analog control and that is simply brilliant :P

X52 ? Yeah it's amazing that little joystick apart from sometimes, just sometimes ;) instead of vertical thrust I manage to apply a sorta diagonal thrust which is ok out in space but inside a station - ass twitching lol, the big thumb button on top is my FA cycle button where head look defaults to, easier there, and I use track ir :)

nope I went with CH fighterstick, pro throttle and pedals (no twist on the stick) it's not cheap and they don't look flashy but by golly they just work.
It was all plug in, calibrate and play (sure spent three weeks tweaking mappings)
no software problems no driver problems ;)

Big caveat it came down to about 450£ after import taxes and whatnot but from what I hear people have bought these in the early 90's and they still work.

Load out link?

Like my viper, been a good ship to me for months :)

Here is my load link for my Viper "Slinky" which is actually my nick name but in Elite I use Black Rose lol

Had to edit it as the original save had the FSD and Cargo bay disabled lol

Not sure if it's me - I've got a video clip needs some trimming but I take on a python solo, he could not hit me with a shot, in fact I'm certain he never managed to land anything on me... Does everyone find it that easy? I solo'd clippers and anacondas tonight and smashed my record - 1.4 mil cr in about 20 mins of being in the res

Pythons don't cheat. ;)
It's time to give this another go.
