Hasn't anyone noticed that the Viper seems to cost a fortune in fuel too?

With all that said, with the Viper nerfed and now on even footing with the Cobra (or slightly less), I still get an itch when I see it on sale at a station. I have around 1mill invested in my Cobra and have to tell my self that it is the correct choice since it can do so much more than the Viper. I would drop the Cobra in a heart beat if I knew i could outfit a Viper to the fullest.

One thing for sure, Gamma or release I'll dump the sidy for the free Eagle (hell yeah  ) and work up the credits for the Viper...Then mayham and let loose the dogs of war.

Well spent most of last night grinding in the hauler.........

Tonight checked out a few places for upgrades with the hauler.....Swapped to the viper and upgraded it......

Trouble is that took most of my 400,000......So back to base.....sell the sidey *Sniff* and jump back in the hauler to get some insurance money.......Got about 250,000 now...So Tomorrow it's off to fed distress to see how it performs...

Well I took ole Vipey to the fed distress around Eranin 4.......

The feckers Of the Eranin Fed Bastards were still running rings around me......

Guess I still need more upgrades to match em.......Believe me they pilot good as well......

Although it becomes more of a jousting match than a dogfight............

Swapped back to using FA off in combat again and Hah.......

20 of da fookers................

It's still not as manoeuvrable as I would like though......

Anyone know where to get above B3 thrusters ?

Well done, Kharma! :)

For the thrusters, I'd start looking at G 180-18. This is where I got most of stuff on my Viper.

Are they advertising on G-180-18?

Like "Pimp-my-Viper"? So they do have the good stuff regularly?

Cheers

I'm loving my Viper, especially with the Delorean paint job.

I just went with the load out that stripped the most weight out of it to improve the turn radius, so no cargo capacity (also frees up an equipment slot). Downgraded the fuel tank to only 2 te (no need for much fuel in a pure fighter).

2 pulse lasers which are cheap and cheerful, low weight and low on energy consumption, purely for beating up shields, and sidewinders and haulers. Backed up with 2 gimballed multi cannons to batter hulls (2000 rounds a gun seems to be plenty).

The most important purchase being an improved power plant, and reinforced hull plating. I upgraded the shields too, but to be honest I couldn't really tell the difference from the stock shield. Improved thrusters seem to make a big difference (especially when you merge with the target and want a bit more separation by thrusting vertically).

Kill Warrant scanners, I didn't see much difference between the 40k one compared to the 8k one. You only get an improved range of about .5km.
