Hi,
I have an A-rated "multipurpose" Python: https://eddp.co/u/4DbhUolT (basically an armed trader with multi-cannons and 1 large turreted burst laser)
Recently I picked a few data delivery missions that triggered some Incoming Enemy alerts.
I can deal with most enemies: Pythons, FDL, even Anacondas as usually the cops show up as well.
However, my problem is the Anaconda's SLF. Notably, in one fight I was actually destroyed by the NPC Condor
I tried to maneuver (incl. FAOFF) in order to get some hits at the Condor while getting shot at by the larger Conda and using my SCB.
However, for one I was too late and the shields collapsed, so I started to run.
I was able to outrun the Conda, but not the Condor which kept shooting at me. As I was mass-locked by the larger ship, it took too long to enter supercruise and my ship was finally destroyed before I could High-wake.
I know I made these mistakes:
- always have a route plotted and a key assigned to "next system in route"
- don't mix builds - fighting condas with non-combat builds
However my question is:
What can I do to my tactics and/or this build (short of engineering it) to be able to deal with the pesky SLFs of larger ships?
I don't think I am that great of a pilot, but I did most of my combat in the Vulture, and with the Python I can pretty much win any 1v1 NPC fight.
I figured a large turreted Burst Laser would be more effective against the fragile SLFs, but that does not seem to be the case? (I have the turret mounted on top)
EDIT: found this https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthrea ... -correctly
Could this be the reason I found the turret ineffective?
