Hi,
Just started playing again after a little holiday from ED
I always take a break from a game if it starts to feel more like work, rather than enjoyment.
I actually find ED better if I play it on a casual basis
If you are a gamer then dig out some old favs for a month or so. If not, I'm afraid the other alternative is real life.

When I get tired of Elite, I fire up No Man's Sky.
When I get tired of NMS, I fire up Elite.
When I get tired of space I fire up the PS 4 and play Last of Us.

Sometimes a change of pace is exactly what you need.

I have just come back from a 3 month break and it did me the world of good. I really enjoy the game again and prior to that, I hated it and everything felt like a grind. Now I have done most of the engineer stuff and no way would I have done that had I carried on playing, so sometimes it is good to have a break.

I cut out every once in a while and play Stardock's Sins of a Solar Empire or Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne. I can get lost in mindless JRPG grinding for XP or building an armada of capital ships with which to Strike Down MY ENEMIES!!!

Whoops...maybe I should just read a book....
