Ummm I didn't say that. Think some quotes got messed up.

He edited AJH's quote incorrectly and that attributed it to you. Should look like this:

AJH wrote:Those missions aren't the problem. They are fine and in balance with everything else in the game. The out of balance part is the 6-8 million credit smuggling missions that I've gotten as many as 4 of them in a single hop that only require flying one jump. Making 30 million credits an hour or so from the 400ly missions is on the higher end of average, but normal enough for the game. Making 25 million credits in 6 minutes is not.

I don't personally care about it. I think it is fine, but I can understand why people that worked hard for their credits are miffed about it being rather excessively easy now. The 30 million an hour 400ly options are still enough to get someone from a sidewinder to an Anaconda in about a week and a half if they know what they are doing.

My apologies to AJH - poor editing and an ambiguous response on my part. Original fixed.

I was trying to suggest that FD had created the situation in order to provoke nathdixon92 and his ilk, not you.

I dunno if I'd set the blame on Frontier.. this guy is ticking so many boxes for this sort of behaviour.. It's likely why he is doing what we come to expect from dbags like him.

I didn't see it until after your edit anyway, so I'll just live on in blissful ignorance. I probably would have figured that's what you meant anyway though.

Sooo... it was ok for him to use the systems to line his ships/pockets with gold and now he want's to prevent others from doing the same.

Amusing that others found his posts in other threads about him having a cutter etc. Anyway as others have rightly said, it's pretty much unsustainable and will only last a few days if it even gets off the ground in the first place.

THIS. Everyone is free to do what they wish in this game, it is the beauty of this (and many games like it), much as I might disagree with the philosophy behind his intentions.

I won't lie, I have made many, many, MANY millions from the long haul trips (and a few from the "snake x into CEOS/SOTHIS" short smuggle missions but not as many tbh) and it got me from a T7 to fully upgraded Python, FDL and Anaconda (although not fully upgraded). Before that I did a lot of other, more difficult and time consuming, stuff like mining, bounty hunting and rare trading.

What's really childish is the fact that, as blazingmaniac has stated, this guy used this same mechanic to make himself money (lots of it) and now crusades against those who might want to do the same - unless he is simply griefing for griefings/attentions sake (highly possible given the simple nature of this CMDRs "logic", which i think we can all agree is non-existent). Hypocrisy, mixed with a complete lack of self-awareness, at its best (worst).

Despite what one's personal opinion of this mechanic is, none of us have a right to assume we can tell, or coerce or by force manipulate, another's choice of actions (that are legitimate and within the rules and bounds of the games system) within a game like this. Well, at least we don't assume this and I guess that's why we're here on Mobius (as was pointed out to me earlier in the thread.

It makes me sad to ponder where some humans just go horribly wrong. Rather than deciding on this course of action, he could have instead used his experience and resources to help new players, just as someone most probably directly, or inadvertently, aided him as a noob (and most certainly how he himself found out about CEOS/SOTHIS no doubt.

In fact, that gives me an idea...

I'm over at Ceos/Sothis right now trying the short run missions. It's not really as game breaking as I thought it would be. First off it was a hell of a haul to get there. Second, the cargo requirement of these missions really limits the number you can take. One of the smallest shipments I saw was 42t of narcotics for $3M, I can get at most 3 into my Asp and that's with everything else stripped out. They don't have larger than class 1 cargo racks so if you flew out in a flying gas can... you're SOL (and I'm not referring to our star). The payouts don't seem to get uber-ridiculous until you can afford the more expensive ships. According to the info on INARA, there aren't any "big" ships nearby which means a 600ly round trip to go pick up a bigger ship like a Type-7, Type-9, Python, etc... Seems like a lot of dinking around to get a Type-9 to then stack the full 20 missions for 120M. I've stacked skimmer missions before and honestly, those seem to stack up faster (and offer more money) than these... and you can stack 20 of them and complete them in a sidewinder if you want. If you stick to a faction that's anarchy or has a status of civil war/war, there's no fine/bounty and if you have missions for the same faction at different locations, you can pick the easier of the two and the kills will count for both.

I don't see either one of these as the game breaking crisis the dude is claiming. Either way you have to sit and mindnumbingly stack missions for at least an hour to max out your mission count before you can do the 5 minute run. So it's not really x Mcr for 5 minutes work. I just don't see the people who stack the hell out of these being the sort who'll stick with the game long-term anyway. They'll get their endgame ship in the first week or two, have their 40-200 hours of fun and move on to something else. Clearly this dude is a grade-A drama queen because the notion that some noob is going to fly out there in a Sidewinder, spend a few hours grinding smuggling missions, then return in a (using his words) "gold plated conda" is flat-out BS. Yeah, if you've already got the Cutter, Type-9, Conda, etc... you can make serious cash. I flew out here with an Asp Explorer and the most I can fit in my holds are one or two missions... and I have to switch modes for 15-30 minutes just to find those two or three missions.
