Azrael or Jaques?

It feels like I am still in the beginning parts of the game and I wonder how I could improve my experience a bit. So I thought I could get in closer contact with the rest of you.
But now it's the question: should I travel to Azrael, or the Long journey over to JS?

Depends, Azrael is a good place to call home and a nice base in which to work out of. I am about a 1/3rd of the way to Jaques and it is a slog, even in my Exploration equipped Anaconda! If you like just jumping then JS is the way to go I have been doing this now for the last few days and it is somewhat of a chore now

Thanks. Hm, don't know. Can't say I am very much interested to spend the little time I have to just travel.
Haven't seen a lot in ED either and have not much money.
I guess I will head over to Azrael first. This journey is Long enough for me at the moment.

Having gone to Jaques, I'd rather have gone to Azrael, if I'm just comparing destinations. The station is meh.. not even an oasis. As a CG, Jaques is a good one, as it's going to be the hub for the thargoid battle areas that will unlock soon, and the UAs are all a misdirect.. I mean, ignore that.

Tricky question really. If you want to participate in the CG, then you need to take the required cargo, and a good long distance build with fuel scoop, auto field repair module, and the like. If you want to participate in the newest CG, then take mining gear.

If you want to do both.. you need to balance hauling, long distance travel, and a mining rig build, since you can't restock at jaques..

Most of all, you need patience. Cause Jaques is 22,000 lightyears away. People complain about flying 300LY doing rare trade runs. It changes perspective on distance.

I suggest if you can, you take part in at least 1 delivery. CGs progress the lore and the game itself. And it's a badge of honor to have done.

A ship capable of about 35 ly can do 2000 ly in one hour if you really really want to. That means no scanning, just mind numbing jump scoop jump.

And that's an idealised path. You will most likely have to add a thousand or two ly to this so instead of "only" 630 jumps it's somewhere between that and a thousand.

One way. And that is with a 35 ly base range.

I keep getting distracted by the actual game to do that mindless scoop and jump stuff. I really did not enjoy doing that. Now, I amble along, scanning a bunch of interesting planets on the way back, like massive water worlds, and hellscapes with rings.
