Beware what you wish for. After all, when you want to run with us Staters, Brits and the like ... saying "Don't kill me, I'm Canadian" doesn't help with the Tangos ... saying, "you're close enough."

Canada gave us Corner Gas, so you're fine in my books. Welcome to ElitePVE!

Hello everyone!
I would give my commander name, but at this current moment of writing it, I actually can't remember what it was... This is partly because I did play Elite: Dangerous back in 2014 and stopped playing the game once it released to steam, in concern of not wanting to deal with the trolls that is sometimes the steam community (no offense to anyone here on this forum mind you).

I have been wanting to give the game a second chance and started to hunt around for any PvE options, which has lead me here to you guys. I love playing with a community, as while i may be a bit of a solo player, I do enjoy being a part of a group or around others while I do things. As for my reasons why PvE over PvP, well, while I may have played games like Eve Online, I find that PvE communities tend to be less toxic and more relaxing.

I do enjoy PvP at times, but only when I desire to go looking for it, no when I have to watch my back every second, so in even in Eve Online, I was known to hang out in high sectors and do a ton of mining, (though I did have teeth encase sometime tried to get aggressive with me first). I've always been a believer in "Do onto others, as you do onto yourself" and I tend to carry this belief anywhere I go, even in PvP places. Don't mess with me, and I wont mess with you. So, I found my mentality just works better on a PvE server and I am really hoping to experience that fun of PvE, community, and enjoyment of the game here with everyone.

Sorry for the long ramble and look forward to seeing all of you, once I reinstall the game here, get use to the controls again, and jump into the wide open space of Elite: Dangerous!

I am unfamiliar with what you speak of.

I only use Valve's Steam as a "software management solution," and hardly use it for anything else ... maybe uploading/hosting screenshots as of late would be my only "community" use of it. I participate in 0 forums or other non-sense on Steam, although I see what you mean by various l33t-type kids I find in Google searches. To me, Steam is such value that I would pay Valve $100/year just to use it. Before Steam, managing Windows gaming PCs was so much non-sense, I never bothered. But the community I don't bother with.

I'd pay $5 a month or $40 a year to have a steam sub. Especially if it reduced the russian dbag hackers/scammers I have to block, and cleaned up the cesspit that is the steam discussions pages. But the steam forums are no special case. Most forums are shitposts places full of trolls. But I don't get why anyone would not use their steam account because of the forums.. I mean, they're not required to play a game at all.

I forgot to say, Welcome to ElitePVE, CMDR Remille.

I've heard of this issue with many users, but I've yet to have any issues. I probably should use 2-factor, before it happens though. But I don't friend anyone (only 5 currently), and my profile is 100% friends-only (other than the screenshots I share only here).

My Handle is Ork. Because of the growth of the internet since 1994 when I took it; it is now Ork9000.
In game I am CMDR Ork9000.

I'm a social PVE player. I like meeting and socilizing with people. I like exporing. I am new to elite this week. It is all new to me.

Hello I'm CMDR Rithix Voidrunner just getting started playing again and decided to have a go in an open world with a group rather than solo. Picked up the game on Steam Black Friday sale last year and really haven't had much time to play though I've managed to get myself up to an Adder and some pocket change.

So, we meet again, Voidrunner. I bet you thought you'd never see me again after you slipped away with the explosion at Hilne 3-Beta. Don't try and run, I've already disabled your FTL drive.
