Learned a couple of things.... Comdr. Al is cool, no idea how to get Robigo rep up so I can actually do a mission, long distance missions pay really well, and at 16 jumps don't take too long. Short hop military missions end up 350+ lay away...... Lies...

Winged up with some awesome people stalking the new barnacle site in merope.

We shot at it. We shot at it some more. Threw buggies into space. I got my SRV smoked by packhound missiles. Shot some NPCs and I got to test my experimental "Science vessel" Clipper outfit.

I'd say it was a good night :D

Wow, very nice! That's certainly not an easy task.. but then again, I have much respect for any brethren that have become Elite in something.. Speaking from experience, it's not something you just "do".

When we get to over 30, I might as well be dead. I am hoping the cold of the world will make me feel better.

It's been low 40º's here, even worse with the heat index factored in.. so I understand playing cold games, thinking cold thoughts.
We virtually never break 40ºC here in Orlando. But I'd rather be in 50ºC in Las Vegas, than 40ºC in Orlando, with the sheer, constantly, 100% humidity.

Florida has been breaking records over the past year on precipitation. Of course, this also meant ...

And yes, I'm an American that prefers Celsius, and everyone is taught it as the US became officially metric in '75 (but the US media fails to use it). The 0 (freezing) - 10 (cool) - 20 (perfect) - 30 (warm) - 40 (hot, or scorching humid) - 50 (scorching dry heat) ... makes far more sense to me. Of course I majored in EE, and everything is metric, while US civil and mechanical have a lot of existing standards and history that cannot be thrown away (like SAE). Although even the SAE and all land records are dual-annotated since the '80s.

But at least the US Customary system has been based on Metric since the middle of the 19th Century, always to the same significant digits as Metric itself (first 5, then 7 and finally 9 by the first half of the 20th century).

I only do celsius. I'm trying to break the "another american generation that doesn't know the standard units that the WORLD uses" stereotype.
I'd take 50 and a dry heat over 40 and humidity any day of the week.. the humidity with low-mid 30s the past few days has been horrible.. Southern Summer for you there.

Maybe with the advent of Pokemon Go, americans will finally demand a movement to Metric from Imperial.. It gets old trying to explain what a "km" is to people..

Now, I've seen my first black hole, thanks Maia B, and I think it's high time I saw one of these barnacles. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Atlas, Maia, Merope?

Also, a final thought.. WTF is up with these NPCs being OP at interdicting.. I get that I am now in Lawless space.. but these NPCs are crazy powerful. Figured out I can scan them for... well I dunno what I get from scanning them, but it's something. Showing up late to an update is..fun.

In the end I ended up not launching Elite for a week now. I was playing fine until early July but then some real life events distracted me plus the weather here became just too hot to sit in front of a computer and play. I always end up stopping gaming during summer so it was kind of predictable. I'll be back at Fall!
