Another suggestion ... I see from your Inara sig that you are in PP. That will get you a lot more interdictions. I dropped PP when Engineers came out, because of that.

I got interdicted from an Elite Anaconda and I managed to get his power plant to 1% and my Vette shields where still at 1 ring or more.
Then he started firing continusly a beam laser (not therma problem no power issue???) and despite my targetting his power plant he managed to get my Vette to 23% hull before finaly hitting that 1%....

Something was seriously wrong...

Huge pulse laser and two pulse turrets and THREE(3) large multicannons are VICIOUS.

Well, after some ( and very long) time trying to get the materials I needed for the FSD, Power plant and Dirty drive upgrades for my Corvette and thanks to a lucky draw on the Lvl 5 FSD upgrade that got me 21 LY empty and 16.8 LY fully loaded, I can finally start working to get the Elite rank in trading with it.
-520 Tons of Cargo ( 584 if the Fuel scoop is not needed for the route)
-5A Shield Generator with 8 boosters (1,022 total shields), everything else A rated.
-2 huge beams and pulses on the rest.

Now to find a good route

Just had the strangest thing happen in a high res. Took out about a dozen dangerous and deadly FDLs, Pythons, and Anacondas. Also one master Clipper that was the hardest one to kill, pointing directly at me the whole time - as Clippers will do, and had his shields come back twice before I finally got him (hull, not power plant). This whole time I had a total of two plasma bolts shot at me and the cops never showed up.

Then I took on a little wing of an Eagle and an Anaconda. The damn Eagle wouldn't go down, which gave the Anaconda a chance to join in, and they were both scoring hits. I lost my shields, and lo and behold the cops finally show up. After that, things were pretty much back to normal.

That session did wonders for my local rep.

One other thing, I've seen a lot of NPCs crashing into asteroids, often taking down their shields.

The baddies are still tough in the combat zones and RES locations. So I'm glad they haven't nerf'd the combat in that regard. I never minded that in a Vulture.

But I heard deep space interdictions and random encounters have been scaled back, and you should only see your combat level +1. I've only seen Master as of 2.1.03, being Expert.

The constant barrage of deep space interdictions of Dangerous, Deadly and Elite seem to be over for me. I can now survive or run away again. Nice to ne back.

I'm back down to an Asp. The Python is still junk for maneuver. Both are supposed to be a 6 rating for maneuver, but the Python is barely 1 step up from a Type 7, and a joke compared to the Asp.

how does the vette fly compared to the conda/hows its cargo? I have been thinking of going for either a vette or a cutter and I am just not sure what would be best for me.

Hello,
I love my Python. Flying it, or looking forward to fly it, is what keeps me coming back to ED. Had an Asp while trying to earn credits for my Python and didn't really like it.
But you're right. It's a real pain to manouver in combat. They nerfed the Python before I managed to get mine. Then they unnerfed it a bit so that it could do planetary landings. But in my view they forgot to update the description of it's manouverability in outfitting.
My Python now has Grade 3, clean drive tuning. And I can just imagine how it must have been like before the nerf.
Currently I'm in my Cutter trying to level the Dweller to level 5. So that I can unlock the next RNGineer and get the PD upgrade for my Python.

Had an Elite ASP-X blow the shit out of my Vulture haul, 4% Hull remaining when I made it back to the station. The ASP spawned above me when we dropped out of SC and firing PA like MC's. Yeah something is still amiss.

I had a elite, python, elite dropship, elite assaultship and another elite anaconda.
